Hi everyone...just booked our trip for Nov. & was wondering, my 6 year old's absolute favorite princess is Ariel. She wants to dine with the princesses. Which Princess meal will most likely have Ariel? Also, My hubby & I went on our honeymoon & went to character breakfast at O'hana. We LOVED the pineapple/coconut bread but hear Chef Mickey's is better. Feedback please? Thanks :flower3:

For Ariel, I would suggest Akershus or CRT as she seems to be fairly common at both. We saw her in human form at Akershus for breakfast last year.

I personally, would stick with Ohana for breakfast because CM was horrid on our last trip...bad food, non-existent service, poor character interaction and we had to almost beg to see Mickey.

Akershus for sure over CRT - CRT is overpriced both in terms of oop or ddp credits and very crowded. The quality of time with the princesses is much better at Akershus.

I'm not a fan at all of CM - the food quality is pretty poor (very much like Golden Coral type buffet). Plus, it's noisy and very crowded (tables are wedged in) so character interaction is limited and difficult.

I'll second all of this! For princess interaction, we had a much better experience at Akershus than CRT. I also agree that the crowds at CRT had an impact on our view of the meal. (I loved CRT long ago when dinner was a non-character meal - fun to eat in the castle but far less crowded!)

Same opinion here regarding Ohana breakfast - I don't even like breakfast and Ohana breakfast is one of my favorite character meals. We used to go to Chef Mickey's, but took it out of our rotation because so many other character meals offer a more relaxed environment, better food and better character interaction. Ohana breakfast is so much more relaxed - beautiful setting with views of the lagoon and the castle in the distance!

we are trying the breakfast at Akershus this trip.

As far as Ohana or CM... We did CM for breakfast on our last trip, and it was the worst meal we had. I've heard nothing but good things about ohana, which is why we are going there this year!

but not guaranteed, to see Ariel at Askerhus. We have seen her at CRT one of the three times we've eaten there. She currently has a meet and greet in Adventureland, sometimes with Prince Eric. The meet and greet she had her Grotto was one of the best. She was in fins there but in her dress at the new location. Her is a picture of our daughter with Ariel. We'll see how she likes the new meet and greet in June.

For kids the characters are often as or more important than the food. Ohana has better food than CM in my opinion, but it's hard to miss so many of the classic characters at one meal. I'm not sure whether my kids had seen Lilo and Stitch at six years. I don't think they had but I could be wrong. Had they not then the meal may have been less interesting to them.

We've been to Askerhus 4 times and never saw Ariel there. Your best bet to find her is just over the bridge to Adventureland on the right where Timon or Stich is usually found. She has her human legs and is very pretty! Good luck!

We've been 4 times too and Ariel has been there every time :rotfl: OP- i'd definitely recommend Akershus, its the *best Princess interaction. They spend a good amount of time at the tables and the food is good too.
As for Chef Mickeys, we've never had breakfast there but dinner is just awful :headache: 'Ohana was one of our favorite breakfasts,so much fun!

Edited to add- okay, I have been corrected ;) Ariel was at 2 of our meals. We had Jasmine at the other 2, not Ariel! SOrry!!

I'm going to disagree. I loved CRT and to a little "princess" there is nothing more magical than dining in the castle. I love the wishing ceremony where the lights flicker! I also love the princesses there and yes, I even enjoyed the food, for lunch. We found the food at Asherkaus to be not even edible and to put it nicely, they have the "B" princesses while CRT has the "A" ones. LOL. The Asherkaus Cindy needed braces badly and the Ariel with legs looked nothing like Ariel. :(

We also look forward to Chef Mickeys every trip. You get pics, autographs and even dancing with the main characters all under one roof. Sure the food isn't super great, but I found plenty to enjoy and you can even order a glass of wine to enhance the "magic." LOL. Just IMHO. Have a great trip. :)

:thumbsup2 Thanks so much for all of your feedback. It really is very helpful.
@Hootch: My daughter would would be out of her mind happy if she could sit next to Ariel like that, thanks for posting your picture. As for breakfast maybe we will stick with O'Hana..my hubby is waiting to get his hand on that bread & I do remember a mini parade you can join into. Again thank you all for your opinins

our last trip. Our daughter also did BBB for the first time and her Ariel gown on. Lunch at CRT just a short time later and for the first time Ariel was there. It was near her birthday and the CM at CRT sang Happy Birthday to her two girls at the next table.

On the downside, we had planned for her take a nap so she could stay up late since that was our last night. Coupling all of the excitement of lunch with the normal dessert and a birthday cupcake had her wound up so much she couldn't stay still.

Akershus all the way. we have been there 3 ties and have seen her there the 3 times. We usually go for dinner.

We did Akershus for lunch on the 28th of Feb. Ariel was not present (nor was Aurora). The princesses we got were Cinderella, Snow White, Jasmine, and Mary Poppins (she was the princessess nanny, apparenty).

I was disappointed since I had made the booking to see them all (and celebrate my Princess Half Marathon) and while it's not guaranteed, I had not seen or heard any announcements saying which princesses would be in attendance.

What I would suggest is book which ever suits your group best, but call closer to the date to ask which ones will be there. Crystal Palace told us up front which characters would be visiting us but Akershus doesn't seem to do that.

If Ariel is a 'must-see' princess, I think that calling a head will save you a lot of disappointment in the event she isn't there.

DS LOVES Ariel (and has since he was about 1). He just blushes and says she's so pretty. Sooo, when we went last year, I took him and his little brother to Akershus (I think we were the only family with boys in there! lol) but they had a great time talking to them. They saw Belle, Ariel, Cinderella, Snow White and Aurora.

This year, we're going to CRT. He wants to kiss Ariel again and get a sword and I want to eat in the castle, so it's a win-win (assuming she's there!) If she's not, well, he can just kiss another princess. haha

Every time we've been to Akershus, Ariel has been there. However, she hasn't been to CRT when we've gone. Be sure to plan to go find her and Prince Eric in Adventureland (at least that's where they were this past June). If her meet-n-greet is in a different location, someone will come along and say where it is. Make a point to find her at MK, and hopefully the restaurant you choose will have her too. Good luck finding her!
