What is a princess and pirate party? Who attends? What do they do? Are they expensive? I am planning a trip with my granddaughter in Dec. 2007 and I am curious. Thank youprincess:

It's new, YOu can find all the cost on the Disney site. So far only for January and Feb. December will be the Mickey Christmas party.

It's an after park hours party that happens several days in january, February and March of this year. You need to buy additional tickets for the event and they are thirty-something dollars for adults if you pre-order it. It wouldn't be happening in december of this year because of the MVMCP.

Seems to me they are favoring the young.

Is this just for families with small children or do adults without children go too?

I'm going with my DW and DBIN. Mid 50's, late 40's and 60. Already purchased the tickets. Put some Mickey ears on me and I am a kid again. Should be a blast. Shiver me timbers, Treasure map and Chocolate doubloons.

We are going to the party during our honeymoon. When we bought tickets the CM even suggested dressing up as it will be lots of fun. No this is for everyone. Although if you're going in Dec this party will not be going on during that time.

are these types of things very crowded? or do they only sell a certian number of tickets?

I have never been to MNSHP or MVMCP. Thanks.

I think Disney has decided to 'cash in' on the after hours parties!! A ton of people go to them, they pay in the neighborhood of $40 per person to go. So, Disney started the Halloween party earlier in the year, way into Sept. Started the Christmas party earlier in Nov. So, I'm not at all surprised they have come up with a new theme party to part us from our cash!!! Now, I have been to MNSSHP, to MVMCP 4 times....and I'm going to the Pirate and Princess Party on Jan 26, so they get plenty of my 'party money'. I'm not complaining. It gives me 5 extra hours in MK, which for my family, is priceless, or at least $40!! This time around we have only the one day in the parks, so we get to do our favorites in Epcot and AK and then head to MK for the after hours party.
No one knows yet how crowded these parties will be. The other parties can be very crowded, but it's all relative. If you are used to going in mid-Sept and being able to just walk on any attractions, then you are going to find the parties very crowded. I've been at Thanksgiving, early summer, mid summer, early Dec...so it's only a little crowded to me.
Is it worth it? That's up to the individual family. They do have a set number of tickets to sell, and some parties have sold out in the past. The number of tickets for sale is huge though, so you aren't going to feel like you're alone in the park.

As someone else has already said, they most likely won't have it in Dec..they already have the MVMCP then, they don't need another one. Perhaps they'll come up with a different theme for the 'warmer' months.

My DM59 and ME39 are going in Feb. It's her first time at WDW! I figred we would do it up good and proper!pirate:

P&P party should be really cool and the atsmophere acts should be the best part. Capt jack teaches how to be a pirate. Huge Stage show on forecort stage. Largest parade float in history. And tinkerbell makes an apperance on the float!!!

Has anyone actually been to this party yet? We went to MNSSHP but had to go back to hotel to change out of too hot costumes. We stayed at the contemporary so it was not that big of a deal but I don't know if we missed something but there was really nothing special except the parade and headless horseman of course. my DD is 5, maybe she's too young. We are going in 2 weeks and just wanted to know if it is worth it to buy tickets. Plz help-- Thanks

No one can help you on if it's worth it yet as the first party is not until next monday Jan 22.
