Well my trip got a little more complicated, but better!. Now instead of just my granddaughter and me, my 2 other granddaughters ages 5 and 7 and their other grandma may join us for the Disneyland part of our trip.
They would potentially be leaving after our planned princess breakfast on our last day at Disney, a Thursday. Trying to scope out flights for them. It's a little more difficult for them since they are coming from a non hub, smaller airport area. It looks like earliest time is 8 am. So what time would be realistic to be finished, if I can snag that time. Trying to fly out of SNA, but may have to do LAX(!)

Thanks. Yes checking all the surrounding airports. Our choices are:
Thurs:they stay for the princess breakfast and leave directly after to the airport.( SNA LGB options, maybe Ontario?)
Thurs: forgo the princess breakfast and just go to airport ( if LAX option for sure)
Or Thurs, go to princess breakfast, and stay for our last day at DL, transfer to Hilton Universal with us in the evening, and while my granddaughter and go to Universal on Friday, they leave for the airport, ( Burbank or LAX options)

My 5 year old is both too small, and too timid for most of the rides at Universal, and so they aren't going to Universal. They are going home with other grandma to West Virginia for a visit. They live near me, so they travel to CA with me, but home with the other grandma.

It's too early to book dining for my trip yet, so I just looked at the latest Thursday to check available times, and saw 8:00, 8:40 as earliest for the breakfast. So was thinking we'd probably be done by 10:30? Do you think that the Grand Californian would hold their suitcases at bell services while we eat ? That would eliminate the time to go back to the Disneyland Hotel for bags.

Unfortunately there aren't many direct flights where they are going, most are at least one stop. I've seen a possibility of 12:30 out of SNA on Thurs, so maybe that could work. There are other permutations I'm going to look at, depending on if she's up for flying into a different airport and having about a 2 hour drive at that end. But that would be a long day, even the airport closest to their home is 45 minutes away, they live in a really small town.

SNA about 25 min
LAX about 1.5 hour
Long Beach about 25 min
Ontario Airport about 1 hour

Travel time from Universal Hollywood to
Burbank airport about 15 min
LAX about an hour

Plus you need to go through security,check you suitcase, get the kids to the bathroom etc. It's being a challenge to find a flight with the right timing.
