We have a group of 4 for the 5 k ..only one of our group is experienced runner doing the half. We are just wanting to take it all in for the 5k. So my question is...Is there any harm to putting down a better pace time than you actually have? Actually we were planning to walk it..We want lots of time to enjoy everything.Again this is our first time at the princess.
Thanks

The harm is that you might well be in front of faster people who will be unhappy that you're there.

Or, put another way, you will be in the way of people who are shooting for speed, not taking it all in.

The minutes per mile measurement starts from the last person who starts, so you can still take it in if you start later.

It is not good race etiquette to start from an area that is not consistent with the pace you plan to compete at. It is worse race etiquette to then walk from the start (especially four abreast) and impede people who are trying to run at the pace corresponding with that start location.

Is the concern about being swept from the course if you’re walking? Because my understanding (my first 5k will be in january) is that they’re more lax about sweeping the 5k, it’s a very short race and everyone will be done well before Epcot’s opening. Someone else can chime in if they know the pace limits.

Yes that is also a concern. I see conflicting information when I search the topic, so all info is welcomed.

The 5Ks are a lot more lenient. And you're given a lot of warning if you're too far behind.

I honestly don't think they even sweep the 5Ks unless someone is injured. I walked the Princess 5K with my mom in 2017, before her knee surgery. We took it at her speed and it took us well over 2 hours to finish. We were never warned to speed up and we never saw sweepers.
