Princess 1/2 in 2010 ??

Has anyone heard if they are going to have the princess 1/2 again next year? I really want to do this race, I am not currently a runner but I will start training as soon as I am released by my physician (just had surgery last week). If so do you think it will be like the big one in Jan and the sign-ups will be soon after the race? How soon does the Jan 1/2 fill up? Sorry for all the questions but I really want to do this and I want my "big" race to be at WDW !! The princess just sounds better and the time of the year works better for me. Thanks!!

This is the first year for the Princess so hard to say. Probably will depend on this year's response.

I'm still hoping they bring back the Minnie 15K.

Jan half filled up last March.

Mel: Minnie is dead and won't be back. Princess 1/2 looks like a repeat in 2010 but 2011 will depend on 2010(just how Minnie was). I had people email me from my website who wouldn't do Princess as a rehash of Jan 1/2 2 months later. I think they need a new course in 2010 or it may die too

Robert, you're crushin' my dreams, dude I kinda feel the same way...I just did Donald. Do I really want to run the same course all rebadged in pink without the big marathon weekend support? I liked the originally proposed Princess course better (more like the Minnie). I understand running the Princesses thru the castle, but as courses go, the Donald/Princess course is tres boring compared to the back half of the marathon course.

Besides switching up the course for those that had just done the Donald 1/2 I think they need to put it more in the May time like the Minnie was. I think early March is still too close to the big Marathon weekend. I mean I am all for getting another trip to Disney but they tend to bunch their races too close together for anyone but a local to make more then one or 2 a year.

Tricia: I agree. If it were May, we might make it but 2 cross country trips in less than 2 months is impossible. I liked May as it was F&G going on at Epcot.

I think they moved it from May as they were competing with the Flying Pig races.

I liked it in May also bcause of the flower and garden festival. They ended up moving it smack dab in the middle of the most expensive season at Disney. If they didn't want to compete with Flying Pig (which one of these days I have got to do just because of the name!!) then they could have put the race on another weekend in May or even in April. Oh well - I must not mind to much since I am registered - just can't spend as many days there as I would like.
