After much convincing from my teens, we have decided to try the Prime Time 50's out for lunch during our upcoming trip. What is suggested to order, and any one special server to request? We'd like to have a blast! Also, if any one has food pics, that would just be GREAT! :)

Fried chicken comes with greens, but you can substitute another veggie, peanut butter/jelly shakes are what we go for though. My mom loves their chicken pot pie. Their fried cheese/fruit plate used to be the best thing on the menu, but alas is no longer on the menu.

When I check in I ask for a kitchen table with a TV. It means waiting a little longer for the table, but I just love those tables and it makes the experience for me. Favorite is the pot roast with the fried chicken coming in next.

Has anyone been there recently and remember what your options are to sub for green beans? Thanks so much for all the pointers, especially table request! :thumbsup2

What would I suggest---Nothing!! Well, maybe running the other way.... A substitution would be the root vegetable hash!:crazy2: :scared1:

It's actually southern greens that come with the fried chicken. You can substitute corn or green beans for them. Our server was Auntie Claire - she was hilarious!

We had a great time at 50's and thought the fried chicken was fantastic. I don't remember the veggie actually since that was hubby's dinner. I had the salmon, which was good, but I kept stealing his chicken.

The only photo I have is of dessert - the S'mores.

You can't go wrong with a PB&J shake with the Fried Chicken and S'Mores for dessert! :thumbsup2

I had the pot roast, it was awesome. DW had the fried chicken which she says was good. The s'mores for dessert if you like sweet!

I loved the fried chicken, my mom loved the pot roast, and I think my grandma had the meatloaf. Definitely save room for the s'mores dessert!

The desserts in general are all great, and the s'mores are awesome! My DH really digs on the meatloaf, and my father always gets the chicken.

Me personally, I always get the turkey stacked sandwich, and I never like it. Maybe next time I'll get the chicken!

Oh, and the battered onions rings are a great appetizer!

Do they have tables for 6 that have the televisions?

Thanks.

Not sure about the TV question....we go to this restaurant each trip. Our best server ever was Auntie Clarie....however, we request her each time we go and she is never there when we are...:sad2: As for the food, we all love the chicken. We don't fry too much at home, so this is a special treat for my family. The funniest time with Aunt Claire was when my husband went to the bathroom during dinner and she asked him if he washed his hands....He said tha the had and she asked what color the soap was...he couldn't tell her so she proceeded to announce to the entire restaurant that my husband went to the bathroom without washing his hands...made him go back in there and do it again. Another time we had a different server...my niece was with us and she didn't like her green beans.....she tried to hide them, but was caught. When desserts were brought to the table, she was given a large plate of whipped cream with green beans underneath :rotfl: It was hilarious. As you can probably tell, we love this place. The food is not fancy, and certainly not diet food, but it's great fun. Hope you enjoy it.

We did 50 PT without an ADR Easter weeks 2007. My DH was so nice with the CM they found us a spot 30 minutes later. We fell in love with 50 PT.

Yes they have tables for large groups - ask for one with a TV on your ADR. Some tables do, some do not. But the atmosphere is great, especially if you were born between 1950 and 1965. Lamination and plastic in the kitchen :rotfl:

We are a family of 4 - DH, DW and teen DS & DD.

What we liked:
DS-> Mickey's Bee Bop Drink -- Cherry Sprite with glowing "Electric" ice cube in a souvenir cup
DD-> milk
DH -> coffee (what else :rotfl: )
DW-> water

DD -> Grilled Chicken (plain) with substitions: mashed potaotes & carrots added. She needs gluten free frood and PT could easily accomodate her

DS-> Top Sirloin Steak - char-grilled and topped with roasted mushrooms and substition: french fries added

DW: Golden Fried Chicken - Served with mashed potatoes and substitions: green beans added

DH: Glazed Salmon - Pan-seared, served with Mashed Potatoes and corn relish - no substitions, he eats anything and everthing

Dessert:
DD -> Fruit Salad (GF food)
DS-> Brownie Sundae - Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, and Caramel topping (he can not live without a chocolate fix)
DH & DW -> we spit Seasonal Cobbler ala mode (vanilla ice cream)

ENJOY :goodvibes

I LOVE the 50's PT!!! Are going there this September for my third time. I like the pot roast and fried chicken the best. I heard you can substitute the green bean for mash potatoes :confused3 . My favorite server was Uncle Dale. But we also had Uncle Tim and Aunt Diana.

While I like the fried chicken, it's not about the food for me...it's the show!

Have fun with it!
