I've tried prime rib at Le Cellier, Yachtsman, CRT, Chef Mickey's, and 1900 Park Fare so I know about those places but would like to try somewhere new. How is the prime rib at Kona Cafe, Concourse Steakhouse, Boatwright's (we are staying at POR) or any other I'm missing? Any thoughts and opinions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The Prime Rib at Boma is wonderful. We also had Prime Rib at H&V one year and it was very good too.

Only one I can help with, my husband had prime rib at the castle (oops just realized CRT meant the castle...it was called King Stephen's or something like that when went)...he really liked it....hope that helps! I think it was served with mashed potatoes and he cleaned his plate...he also liked their horseradish/au jus they had. :) But you've tried some great restaurants....which were YOUR favorites???? My husband is a huge BEEF fan and loves a good prime rib...out of the ones you've eaten are there any standouts?

Thanks!!
Tara

My son's favorite prime rib of all time is at the Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary. He even gets a bigger cut then what's listed on the menu. I agree the prime rib there is very good but I suspect the atmosphere and just the fact that we are at Disney may also factor in there. :cheer2:

DH has had the Prime Rib at Kona Cafe and really enjoyed it.

The best we've tried so far was at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. I've tried it 4 times and only once was I slightly disappointed because it was a tad overdone to me. We like our prime rib somewhere between medium and medium rare leaning to the medium rare side. We enjoyed Le Cellier but my dh's filet was much better than my prime rib. 1900 PF was similar to a lot of buffet's roast beef. When they were there they were cutting it thin and it was cooked medium well. I know a lot of people (especially here in the south) that think it is totally gross to order any meat with pink in it. I don't tolerate pink in a burger but a steak or prime rib .... oh yea, I was raised up north you see lol. We've been to Chef Mickey's buffet 4 times also and it has always been ok for a buffet but on our last visit? It was really, good! The CM was cutting thicker than usual and it was pink. For those who like well done they had that also but he asked how I liked it and that's exactly what I got. I do know from years of ordering prime rib at restaurants and also cooking it at home a LOT depends on the aging and quality of the beef. It's kind of hit and miss. I got a recipe from a chef once and talked to him about it and he confirmed a lot was about how aged the beef is and the grade.

I had the PR at Boatrights and remember it being good... the food there was actually much better than I expected. Go Disney! ::MickeyMo

Prime rib is my absolute favorite, and I have to say I have yet to have any at WDW that was very good. By far the worst was at the castle. Chef Mickey's believe it or not was the best I can remember.

:goodvibes I was born in Alabama, my husband raised in Memphis...pure Delta southerners...but he LOVES mid-rare...more on the rare..just slap it on and warm it for a touch then send it on...I started out well-done all the way and after 12 years of marriage..now must have medium....he's working on me! :) We have PS's for YS in May and I am toying with eating at Shula's and sending the kids to a free time at Camp Dolphin...have you tried Shula's??? I hear from steak lovers that is tops....some will argue YS...but this is our last trip to Disney and I want my dh to have the best meat he can find :) Thanks for your review!!!

I had the prime rib at Kona Cafe a few months back and I thought it was very good. I'd categorize it as a prime rib similar to something you'd get at a chain like Outback steakhouse or Bugaboo Creek steakhouse rather than a more upscale place like Morton's or the Capital Grille. I think the price at Kona was right around $20 so I thought it was a decent value (for Disney).
