Hello!
What exactly is Prima Notte and how is it set up? Is it tasting the various wines they have out and you have bite-size appetizers with it? Trying to figure out exactly what this is. Cheers!

When my husband and I did Prima Notte last September on the Dream, it was set up as a series of wines and small bites served at the table. We listened while the Palo sommelier described each wine and the accompanying plate before or as we were served them. I think there were 4 sets. It was light enough that we were still hungry enough for our late-seating dinner afterwards, but not for dessert.

We just did Prima Notte on the Fantasy in September. We were seat at a table- we had our own for two, but most tables seated 6. We were early enough that we were asked and had a choice. The sommelier is introduced and then the head chef. He disappears and the Sommelier is your guide through the experience. You are then presented with a series of 4 wines/one is a champagne and small plate of food. The pairing is explained. Appetizer, First, Main and Dessert are served. We are foodies, so we loved it! For some it is light enough that you need more food. For us, it was just right and only needed a small snack later and not a full dinner. We received a lovely pin at the end. It was a B2B anniversary cruise for us, so it was just perfect and a great break from the main dinning room for us.

We were early as well but all the tables on the Treasure were set for 4 or more. We had not expected to be seated with another couple as we never had in Palo before.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for the details! This helps a ton!! Cheers!

This is good to know! I’ll be on the Fantasy and just did Palo on the Treasure so I do know they have a different set up. We definitely want to be seated just the 2 of us and I know that’s not a guarantee so that’s holding me back from booking it especially at $85! We are platinum and will use our Palo $50 credit on the cruise, so we are going to Palo… just thought this was a nice addition with the wine experience.
Cheers!

It was lovely and I'm still glad we went even though I do not like sharing a table..! It helped that I hadn't known ahead of time otherwise I may not have gone - we lucked out with perfectly fine table mates.

I remember there was some concern the $50 credit wouldn't work on this one as it is billed as a "tasting" and not booked under dining but under onboard fun... hopefully someone knows who had it work or not! We had another dinner booked later in the cruise so that is what we used ours on.

When we did it in August on the Treasure, it was 5 wines and 4 small bites. First champagne, then I'm sorry that i have no idea what the other wines were, but the food they were paired with was seared tuna, one gnocchi (gnocco?), wagyu beef with mushrooms, and chocolate mousse.

The gnocchi and its wine pairing were the best thing I ate on the whole cruise. My husband felt the same way about the beef.

All the tables were set for 4, but not everyone was paired up with another couple. Maybe half and half? We sat alone, but we were kind of jealous of those who didn't (even though we are introverts), because it seemed like the two couples at the table next to us had become instant best friends.

When we did it on the Magic in Sep 2024 there were 8 or 10 tables and each was set for 2. We had the early seating for dinner so we enjoyed a starter and salad in the main dining room and then headed to the first seating of Prima Notte. That amount of food worked out perfectly.

The Platinum credit is officially valid for the cost of a prix-fixe Palo dinner, though it is usually possible to apply it to Palo brunch since the cost for a prix-fixed dinner is the same as the cost for brunch.

Using the Platinum credit for a $55 credit toward the cost of Prima Notte would be at the discretion of the Palo manager. Even if some people have been able to use it, that does not guarantee that others would be able to. You can certainly ask your server whether you are able to apply the credit, but I wouldn't be surprised if you're told no.

Thank you. I have never asked as I assumed the benefit was only good for brunch or dinner. I may ask. Thanks for the details!!!
