anyone use them & find good deals? Looking for a hotel - don't like the idea of not being able to cancel - but if the rate was REALLY good I might be okay - though it only gives the options of 2 star hotels - EEEK!

We use priceline often but use one of the sites that have hotel winnings listed to attempt to guess what we may get. As a whole, 2* hotels are not great, but Hampton Inns fall into that category, and I would be happy with them. I just used Hotwire to get a 3 1/2* hotel in Chicago for $35 a night over the 4th not too far from OHare.

Better bidding is more friendly, bidding for travel has more information.

Try hotwire and see what comes up for that area first.

You can get 4* hotels with Priceline. We got one for our trip to DC at the end of June for $100/night. I have used them before for other hotels and have gotten great deals. They have 4*, 3 1/2*, 3*, 2* and 1*. It is possible that there are no hotels above a 2* participating in your area however.
