Pricing Question

I have a question for all of you Disney experts out there. I believe that I have read several places that your room rate pricing is based on your first night of stay. I am wanting to make sure this is correct. We are planning on going to DW in February and would like to arrive on Feb 14 and staying until Feb 20. Peak rates start on Feb. 15. Will I pay the rates that are effective Feb 14 for my whole six night stay or will I be charged peak pricing for 5 nights? I really don't know if it will make that much difference but I am just curious.

Thanks

Yes, that's correct .... Your nightly rate is based on the day you check-in.

We have that same scenario in December when the rate change is very dramatic ~~ We're checking in on the 19th, the last day of Value season. So we will have the value season rate throughout our entire stay. If we checked in on the 20th our nightly rate would have doubled to the Holiday rate!

Be aware that it also works in reverse .... If you ever find yourself booking a vacation where the first night rate is higher, it would be to your benefit to split your reservation ~ book the 1st night separately from the rest of your nights.

Thanks. From what I can tell, Feb 14 2007 is value season and Feb 15 is peak season. There is quite a bit of difference there also. Does this work for room rates only or do you have to have a package? Will they automatically give you the lower rates or do you have to ask?

Sorry to ask so many questions but I always like to get as much info as possible when planning our vacation. This is the first time that we have been in this situation.

Note that the "price based on first night" thing only works for the first ten nights of your stay.

Can you please clarify this for me? Does this mean that as long as you are staying less than 10 days that the first night is the rate? And, if you are staying more than 10 days it would change? :confused3

That's correct. (Note that that applies to domestic reservations, not international reservations.)
