If I booked for travel and got the regular free dining that is included with the deluxe room, but wanted to upgrade to the next step DP... how do I price that out?

Free dining at the deluxe resorts is the regular Disney Dining Plan (DDP) so you would be upgrading to the Deluxe Dining Plan (DxDDP). You will pay the difference between the cost of the DDP and the DxDDP:
