Looking at my trip and the week before we are booked would be $1200 less but in a villa studio (currently booked in a regular room) at the same resort. Is there a reason it would be a bad idea to switch to this?

I'm hesitating that there may be a reason there is such a huge difference.

Many of the studios are a queen bed + pull out sofa so check the room layout if that’s a concern.

But $1200 is a nice chunk of change. I don’t know why cost would be so different. When staying at beach club I weighed both options but the per night difference was like $30.

It is a pullout and a queen, but that would work really well for us since we’re two adults and a toddler. It’s also a walk-in shower only but I’m not sure a bathtub is worth $1200 to me 😅

How many people in your party? The CC studio villa will have a queen bed and a queen foldout sofa, and those sofas are not especially comfortable according to most reports.

It will also have a kitchenette with microwave, toaster and bar sink and should have a mini-fridge as opposed to the beverage cooler that many resort rooms have.

The early part of September is one of the least popular times for DVC owners to book, so the points cost is the lowest of the entire year. That may be the reason the cash price is lower - just not as much demand for those rooms that week!

Just saw your most recent post - if the lack of a tub isn’t a problem with your toddler, the kitchenette might be useful! CCV is in the main building - those villas are actually converted hotel rooms - so very convenient to restaurants, bus and boat same as the hotel rooms. For a $1200 savings, I’d do it.

I would make that change in a heartbeat. The CCV villas a beautiful and it sounds like the bed layout will serve your needs nicely. Perhaps you have booked a week that falls during a holiday? When my DS was a toddler and not in school yet, we price-shopped a lot in order to book times that were cheaper and less crowded at WDW. I would definitely switch and save $1200.

I made sure to avoid holidays and tried to shoot for right after school starts, which was why I was worried I had missed something 😅

I had been hoping we would be able to snag a studio since I think she’ll do better on the pull out and it’s closer to the floor.
