The 2011 basic plan is $46 off peak and $48 peak season. They took off a drink for breakfast.

Has anyone worked out if it is worth the price vs payng out of pocket? Have the restaurant prices gone up this year? We have no kids in our party.

Thoughts?

Considering that menu prices have also gone up for 2011, I would say that if it was worth it to your family before, it will still be worth it. Someone recently posted 2011 buffet prices and they have gone up since 2010.

I'm paying OOP for the regular dining plan for a 5 night stay coming up this weekend. 2 adults and 1 child. I added up the cost of our TS reservations (Boma, Akershus, 'Ohana, Cape May Cafe, Via Napoli) and with tax the number is very close to what we paid for the dining plan. When figuring in 5 CS meals and 15 snacks on top of that we are ahead of the game for sure.

I hate to say it but I'm starting to think the same thing and may have to cave in a add the DDP.

Our original plan was to skip the DDP since we felt like it was too much food last time and also we're staying 8 nights (arriving very late on 1st night)and planning a few side trips to Sea World etc so only going to be in the parks/WDW resort area for 5 or 6 days at dinner time. Also, #1 reason for skipping the DDP this time around is that I feel like they've taken all the easy out of it.

BUT, as I make each ADR I can see the costs adding up. Hoop de Doo, Tusker House character bfast, Teppan Edo, 50s Prime Time, Fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melrose's. We're trying to limit TS to those instances where it will be most worth our while from an entertainment perspective. These are not the top tier or even penultimate tier of places and it will still cost us more than the $105 per day that the DDP would cost for 2 Adults and 1 Child.

I guess I'll continue to waffle on this for a while. What is the latest I can add the DDP to my existing reservation?

Hi Sharona,

we too are doing the waverying thing, I started pricing out ADR's (just dinner) and it was about 80-100 for 3 people. I am now thinking that the money we saved from using a code will go towards the DDP for us for 9 nights. I also see we are able to add this to our ressie up to a few days before we get there and probably will have it added a few weeks from now (still hoping for a better PIN offer).

Do you not get a drink anymore with QS Buffet Breakfast?

Its still worth it to me. As mentioned before the cost off the menus have also risen. It all depends what you intend to eat.
