I have officially become a Disney junkie, we are planning our next trip for March 2003. I also have become a Priceline junkie, this is our 4th time using Priceline for Orlando, and again we got lucky. We got the Hilton Downtown Disney for $60.00 per night during spring break! We stayed there last year and had a great vacation! I love the location to Downtown Disney, the rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The hotel pool was great, the kids loved it, they also loved the game room!

I just wanted to share my success with you all. I have never been onsite, but, if I keep getting awesome deals like this, I don't know if I will ever pay the $ for onsite.

Leah :)

Congrats! Don't forget to email or call them with your Hilton Honors number.

I am a Hilton honors gold card member. Will they honor the card with a priceline deal?

sillyminnie: Hilton Honors is Hilton's frequent stay card. What's nice about hilton Honors is that a lot of other hotels are part of the Hilton chain. Like: Hampton Inn, Doubletree, Embassy suites, homewood suites and more. Many of these are in the Disney/Universal area.

Cheryl...you could have asked me???? Yes & No...it all depends on the check in staff. Priceline states that any rewards programs will not be honored, but I always present my membership card. Sometimes I am credited points, sometimes not..... Also by showing your membership card, they usually grant your requests faster than without one....;)

Some Hiltons will give you Gold/Diamond perks on a Priceline stay and some will not. For instance, the Chicago Hilton and Towers does ... I got free breakfast and lounge access last year. The Palmer House Hilton just a few blocks away does not. I received a tiny room and a disdainful look :).

I am so glad to hear a positive reveiw of the Hilton. We will be staying there this weekend. I also got the Hilton through Priceline for 70/noc. I used the Resort category with hopes of getting anything. It could not have worked out better. I will be participating in the Danskin Women's Triathalon and the registration is at the Hilton. Anyone else have any reveiws of this resort?

jetdriver50,

I asked for 4 star hotel or better in WDW vicinity and Universal area. Last year I just did 4 star hotel or better in WDW vicinity, this year they didn't take my first bid and I had to include another area since I couldn't change my dates or star level. I don't think anybody could go wrong with the hotel choices.

WDW VICINITY:
WYNDHAM PALACE
HILTON
SWAN
DOLPHIN
MARRIOTT WORLD CENTER

UNIVERSAL:
GAYLORD PALMS

Good Luck if you try!

Leah, they have Gaylord Palms coming up as as a Universal area hotel? it's nowhere near Universal, it's very close to LBV right off Osceola Pkwy, closest to Disney's Boardwalk.

I think it might be listed as Universal/Sea World. I got the info off of Biddingfortravel.com

It looks like an awesome hotel. I think all of the 4star-resort hotels are nice, you can't go wrong. When you get down to the 3 stars, that's when reviews have been 50-50.

Yes, with Gaylord Plams it's a steal! I toured that resort, it's probably one of the most beautiful hotel I've ever been in.

Thanks Leah!!!

I'm trying to coordinate for an impromptu reunion with extended family and of course everyone has differing opinions of where to stay. Looks like the Wyndahm or Caribe Royale.
Two more questions if you don't mind.

Can you book multiple rooms using priceline?

Do you have any other hotel rec's ?

I'm a first timer at WDW and priceline.

Thanks!!!!

jetdriver50,

Look at this website WWW.BIDDINGFORTRAVEL.COM, this site has all the information you need to know about Priceline, including the areas, how to bid, how to rebid. It has a page with everbody's different Priceline bids in the area. It also has a page with hotel reviews. I got most of my info. from this site.

The Orlando Hotels page in the Orlando section of Bidding For Travel has recently been updated (by me :)) with links to reviews for each hotel. Things are much easier to find now!

BTW, The Gaylord Palms shows up in the WDW Area, not the Universal Area.

I guess 5 in a room doesn't work right? I will check out that sight ... thanks!:jester:
