Priceline reviews?

While I love staying on property, DH and I don't like staying in anything less than a moderate and the rates are a bit pricey IMO. I'm thinking about trying priceline, but I've never tried it before and was wondering if you guys could give me some feedback on it. I'd love to hear the deals people have gotten and where you guys have stayed, I think we'd try for a 3* or 3* + hotel. TIA

We just got back from our first trip to Disney last week. I used the Name Your Own Price feature and got Hilton in Downtown Disney at $380 for 5 nights. It was a great deal, but they do charge you $8/night for parking. Overall, we were very satisifed.

I use two websites to help bid on priceline. Biddingfortravel and betterbidding. The first is best for Priceline, the 2nd has more info on Hotwire, including how to sometimes figure out which hotel they are offering you. They include the hotels based on stars that have been seen in the area before, and what has been won before at what rate. Good luck.

I love Priceline!! I have used it for years going to Disney. Always bid resort staying at Gaylord Palms soon for $80 a night. We are sooo excited. Read read read first on how to bid & free rebids. Good luck if you decide to do it.

I use Priceline for every non-Disney trip we take! I have never been disappointed in a room and have always gotten rooms for way less than 50% of the advertised price! The last trip I did was Houston and we stayed in the Hyatt downtown (4 star) for $50 per night! I have gotten 2.5 star rooms as low as $35 (in areas where there are no 3-4 star rooms) but even then we were pleased with the room. I would not travel without Priceline!
