I noticed that quite a few people on this board have used Priceline. I have never done this and was wondering if anyone had ever bidded on a resort ? I was wondering what resorts are available thru priceline and what nightly rate usually get a resort. Also, if anyone has any info on what 4* hotels are usually available as well -Thanks!

rmb,

Most of the Priceline vets here utilize the following site:

www.biddingfortravel.com

Follow all the directions there and they will help you form a bidding strategy. There's literally hundreds of winning bids, and folks will often duplicate a bidding strategy to achieve their goal. There's also lists of hotels that have been coming up at certain levels. But always know when using Priceline that you're bidding for a specific zone, not a specific hotel or resort. To do so is to set yourself up for disappointment. In my opinion, there is nothing in the resort zone right now that's been coming up that isn't A+.

Good luck,

Pat

I just checked bidding for travel and that was a very informative site. My travel dates are 6/29 -7/5 - based on board members experiences when would be the best date for me to start bidding to get a good price?

You're looking for a RESORT hotel in the WDW zone, correct? If so, I recommend starting at $60 or $65 and then go up from there with your free rebids. This seems to be the general consensus at biddingfortravel. Good luck and let us know if your bids get accepted!

What they suggest on biddingfortravel is to make a cancellable reservation at a price you could live with if you could not get something on priceline. Then start bidding at the lowest end of the price spectrum. Read their FAQ so you understand the concept of free re-bids. It's a little confusing, and the 1st time I used p-line I did not understand it well. (I was still happy with what I got though.) If you don't get an accepted bid, wait the 72 hours and try again. The thing about p-line is that inventory changes every day, and the best deals are probably on short notice.
