Has anyone ever bid on a room through Priceline or Hotwire and not been able to get 2 beds when you arrived at the hotel? I am thinking of changing my travel plans for 3 days after a cruise, June 5-8. I would like to try for a 4* in the Sea World area (would like the Peabody, but I know there are a couple of others I may get), but I am afraid that since you can't specify the room, I may end up with 4 people in a king room! I read that I can call down to the hotel later to request, but it won't be a guarantee. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Hotwire allows you to specify the number of people in the room. This gives you different results (sometimes) when you add two children to the mix.

For instance, when I searched for the week we're going, the Extended Stay Deluxe came up for 2 adults, but disappeared for 2 adults and 1 child. (No, Hotwire doesn't give names...but check betterbidding.com for some help there)

PL...you get what you get. Though with an only child, we risk it. No problems with getting a rollaway if we need one.

I only use priceline if there are 2 people. More than 2 I use Hotwire. I've seen stories on message boards of people who used Priceline and then either couldn't get two beds or who were charged more if they had more than 2 people. I've never had an issue with Hotwire when I've booked and put in 4 people.

agreeing with previous posters. we have 2 kids so I stick with Hotwire. I've used them 5 times now and with great results every time. It's great for a 1 night stay pre cruise.

Just be sure that you are 100% sure that your plans will go through. I had a medical situation come up possibly requiring surgery the week I am scheduled to go to WDW. I had booked through Hotwire, and they do not allow changes or cancellations. They said if I sent them a Dr.s note with the reason I am medically unable to travel, they would refund all but $25 processing fee. I told them that sounded like a HIPPA violation. :confused3
