I just bid for a rental car on Priceline for May 19-26. First I bid on a Mini-van for $22 and it was rejected. So, I thought how about a SUV. So, I bid on a SUV for $20 and got it from Hertz. Our total price for 7 days (including taxes) is $187.39. Yeah! My husband is so proud of me. Just thought I'd let everyone know!

Congratulations! I love priceline! Got $99 RT airfare for our upcomming trip.
Unfortunately cant use them for a car. Our plane doesn't get in until after 10pm and I don't want to risk getting a rental agency thats not onsite. It's gonna be hard enough dragging 3 kids thru the airport let alone catching shuttles etc. I'm sticking with National on this one. Did'nt use them for Hotel either. Already booked HIFS and I'm happy with that. Maybe next time.....
Your husband should be very proud. Mine thinks I'm insane being on these boards ALL THE TIME, but without them I would never have known how to save so much $$$ !! plus, the tips are invaluable! :)

Have you considered sending one parent ahead for the car while the other gets the bags? That can work well if the rental car agency isn't too messed up. You might be able to save a lot of money using Priceline or Hotwire.
