Hey has anyone ever bid on flights with priceline? I have done it with hotelsbut never with flights. I would love some feedback from you guys. I need a flight to Orlando on Nov 17 and leaving Nov 21 from Alex LA.

I just used priceline and had great results. They took my first bid, which was $180 less then they wanted just for the flight. Try it! The worse that happens is they dont accept your lowball bid

How were the times? I had thought about using this for an upcoming cruise but I'm guessing because we can't pick the times we would have to come in a day early and leave a day later. Also, where there a lot of fees tacked on?

I'm flying from Detroit to Manchester, NH, which is within 45 minutes of Boston proper. I think I get in at Manchester at 1:30ish pm. I leave Detroit around 8am

The return flight is terrible, I leave Manchester at 6:45 am.
HOWEVER, the going rate for similar flights was around $300. The first thing I bid was $139 and they accepted, with taxes it came to $176.

I was VERY pleased.

Especially because I got my hotel (A marriot extended stay type) for $39 a night, again my first bid.

I've used Priceline for flights. While I got a great deal, you are taking a risk with the times. I used it for flights for my kids when they were in college coming to visit us so I wasn't worried about time of day. College kids can handle just about anything. LOL I personally wouldn't use it for our own travel because for us, time of day makes a big difference and I will pay more for the times I want. That's also part of the reason I choose Southwest; I like knowing that my flight times won't change.

If you're planning to travel an airline that seems to be notorious for flight changes then I don't see much difference using Priceline or Hotwire.
