Does anyone know if you "Name your own price" on Priceline for a car at MCO if they guarantee an agency that is at the terminal? I definitely don't want a shuttle. TIA

They do NOT guarantee any particular rental agency with "name your own price" rentals.
You should note that Priceline deals with several offsite rental companies that require a shuttle (Sixt, Payless, Ace).
The offsite agencies are typically the rental lowest cost option, therefore a very low per day bid may result in one of these companies being selected.

If you really don't want a shuttle, book with an onsite rental agency directly (Alamo, National, Budget, Avis, Dollar, Hertz, Thrifty).
There is probably a thread already running in this forum for the month that you are looking to rent.
Check that thread for rental codes that you may be eligible for and you will get a great rate without the worry.

Thanks. I've been checking that thread and the prices are still high for my dates. I'll keep checking, hopefully prices will come down at the last minute. Its for mid May. I didn't think that was high season for Orlando but so far haven't found a deal.

Book what you can live with now, then check back frequently and re-book/cancel when lower prices show up.

The other problem with "name your own price" on Priceline is that it is a prepaid rental and is non-refundable.
The only time I would book this would be in a last ditch effort to get a really good price a day or 2 before our arrival date. Otherwise just keep checking regularly for a cancel-able/changeable rate.

I always thought May should be a quiet time in the "World" but we have visited 3 times (late April, May and early June) and it's been almost as busy as our summer visits.
We were upgrading our tickets at Guest Relations on one of our visits and happened to ask why it was so busy on a Tuesday in May. The CS agent told us that it's Winter break in South America and WDW is very busy with lots of South American tourists. After that, we noticed that a lot of the large groups in the park had "Brasil", "Argentina" etc on their shirts. Guess she was right, I'm surprised we hadn't noticed this before

Thanks. I don't NEED a car but would like one to get to some of our favorite resort restaurants. Disney transportation takes too long to do this efficiently. If the prices don't come down we will stick with ME and just eat wherever we are.
