Priceline Express Deals

When is the best time to use a Priceline Express deal (or any other type of deal)?
I am planning a one night stay in North Conway, NH this coming Saturday into Sunday.

There is 1 hotel I prefer and it is on the "express deals" list.

Should I book today (Thursday), wait until Friday or even Saturday morning?

It is not absolutely necessary that I get the preferred hotel and there is plenty of available rooms at other hotels for the same time.

From what I can tell it's been about a day before, I kept watching mine to see if it changed and it went up 6$ the same day.
So I got my hotel on choice hotels.com after I found it cheaper elsewhere, I submitted the claim they matched the price and gave me 50.00 giftcard after my stay.
