Priceline experiences

I have used them a bunch for hotel stays and once years ago for air travel. I'm looking for anyone to share good or bad experiences using air travel to Orlando.

It's been about 6 years since I've used PL for airfare to Orlando, but I never had a problem. Just read the fine print and know what to expect. I have noticed that they seem to book you on the last flight of the day on the way TO your destination, and on the first flight of the day when coming home.

Again, I emphasize, USUALLY, the only time you will snag a good deal on Priceline is on a last-minute basis, which usually does not fit in with vacation plans. Doesn't hurt to try, however.

I've never done name your own price on Priceline, but we've purchased airfare and rental cars on the site and never had an issue. This year we booked one way to MCO on United and one way back on Delta and it ended up being less than any round trips I could find on the airlines own site.

We have done it several times and just know it is usually the last flight of the day..we got in at midnight in Ohio which I believe was as late as their policy allows. Our flight to Hawaii was also the last flight of the day. Saved almost 50 percent each time. We did not do it this trip as I wanted early flights.

Oh and both trips 6 months out...not last minute but I have heard even bigger savings if you wait and especially on single tickets.
