I checked out priceline.com and then I got nervous. If you put in a bid do you have to accept it? Or does it just show you what available and then aceot or deny. Can anyone set me straight?
Tara

Hi,

You choose which areas you are willing to stay in, then the star rating of the hotel you are willing to stay in, then the price you are willing to spend. Then if it comes back with a hotel it will automatically book it (your payment details are already entered). So if you bid is accepted it is automatically booked, you cant reject it after!

read www.biddingfortravel.com and www.betterbidding.com

What area are you interested in?

What star level?

What dates?

I will give you a good idea what amount to bid.

But remember, if your bid is accepted, there are no refunds, changes allowed.

I have used it 10 or 12 times and have been over-joyed everytime.

I would be interested in the Disney area and would like from 3 to 4 star rating. The dates would be in April.
Thanks,
Tara

You should know the lowest special, promotional, weekend, etc. rate for the star rating of hotels in the area you choose. Start your bid way under, say 30 to 40 percent.

Sometimes you overlook what is really the lowest going rate. Sometimes hotels add other fees such as resort fees or parking fees. You do not want this to bring your total cost up to fair market rates. Therefore don't go bidding in the 60 to 70 percent and up area even if Priceline suggests it.

I suggest going to www.biddingfortravel.com and reading the FAQs and the orlando hotel lists. If you can't live with ANY of the hotels on the list in your star category, don't bid.
