Priceline/Avis Great Experience!!

I just thought I'd post my recent (11/5 - 11/13) rental experience through Avis. I won a bid on Priceline for a mid-size car rental for $19.00 a day for the duration of our vacation. When I arrived at the counter (around noon) to pick up our car, of course they asked if I wanted to upgrade to a convertible for $10 more a day. I declined and that was when the lady at the counter said that I had the choice of either waiting for them to locate me a mid-size car, or I could have a minivan right away at no additional charge. Of course, I opted for the mini-van! It was a nice Chevy venture that drove great and gave us lots of room. Check-in was smooth and fast. I highly recommend Avis!!

It's nice to hear about another good experience with Priceline and Avis.
I use them all the time and typically end up with Avis or Alamo, although I did get Hertz once. I have never found the service to be lacking at any of them, and I have gotten free upgrades several times. Just this past weekend, Alamo was low on cars so they upgraded us from ecomony to a Toyota Matrix! Priceline is the best, especially for a short rental (we usually do a couple of days), since the weeklong rentals seem to be the cheapies when booking conventionally.

I just used priceline for our upcoming Jan trip. I got a compact size with National for $16 a day!!! I couldn't beat it since we're staying for 9 days, its saving me over $130 off the quote through National!!!
