Priceline and Rental Cars

I'm now 30 days away from our WDW trip. I haven't booked our rental car yet because I'd like to try Priceline to get a good deal.

Can anyone provide advice on the best time to book through Priceline? Our rental would begin Friday, Sept 3...which is the Friday of Labor Day weekend. Since it's a holiday weekend, I'm anxious about getting this done. Any thoughts?

Use the codes in mousesavers to make a backup reservation NOW. You'll be covered in case PL doesn't come through and you'll know how much to bid.

If you book conventionally you can usually find a code/agency that won't charge an extra driver fee for a spouse. With PL you'll pay the fee and will get hit with huge charges if you return the car late or need an extra day.

I have a reservation with Alamo for 8 days around your time frame (certainly covering the holiday) and my rate, all taxes and fees, for a full size is 139.70. I used the BJ's code and 20.00 coupon. Free extra driver too. I will be very surprised if you get anything lower with Priceline.

Just remember that Priceline will only let you bid once every 7 days. You can get around that to some extent by using different email addresses/charge cards, but you are still limited. I usually start 3 or 4 weeks before my trip, although I've noticed that at the busy times of the year (like right now), I usually don't get anything until the last minute.
