I'm finding several different prices for the CD from the 30-minute photo sessions at the Poly, WL, GF, etc. - can anyone who has done this *recently* tell me what you paid?

I'm not interested in getting the prints package, but in walking away with the CD of 40 or so photos. We have already pre-paid for the PhotoPass deal (got the $99 special) for our upcoming trip, but am wondering how much the session adds to that.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I found a helpful website, http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass/ detailing the prices and info - thanks!

We booked our photo session for the Beach Club - we chose the $99 package which includes a "20 minute photo shoot," all the photos on a CD (a different CD than our "regular" parks Photopass CD for which we also paid $99) and "then in the last ten minutes," we get to view the images and choose one of the photo packages to be printed out right away for us to take with us: (A) 8x10 (2) + 5x7 (3); (B) 5x7 (2) + 4x6 (4 sets of 2); (C) 5x7 (7). We choose the pose for each print, so can have up to five different poses for Package A, up to 6 different poses for Package B and up to 7 different poses for Package C, apparently.

There is a $49 option which just gives you one of the photo packages, but without the images on a CD.

We booked by phone directly with the Photopass folks (407-824-1700) and you can make reservations up to 30 days in advance. The Stitch Kingdom website gives more info and is VERY helpful!

When you say "in the last 10 minutes" is that the last half of the photo session? So you had a 10 minute session and 10 minutes to view and pick your prints? Do you know more of less how many photos are usually on the CD and how they differ from the ones in the parks? I only ask this because I am a single mom with one little girl and just wonder if it is more worthwhile for a larger group or family in terms of variety.

Your post was very informative and helpful though, thank you. :thumbsup2

The info I had (prior) was that the sessions were 30 minutes.

What I was told by the PhotoPass folks when I recently booked, is that the actual photo-taking part is about 20 minutes and then, that you spend the *next* ten minutes looking through the photos to select which one(s) you want to be printed out.

The StitchKingdom site says that you get approximately 40 poses/shots - depending upon the relative speed of you and the photographer in moving around to different backgrounds/poses during the shoot.

When we were the "research guinea pigs" years ago when they were thinking about launching this new service (and did the private photoshoot at the GF, back when it was FREE!) we did get about 50 different shots during the 20-30 minute shoot. The photos were fabulous! We didn't get any printed out back then, they just all went onto the CD.

Check out that link I posted - it is pretty helpful! Good luck!

We did it last week and he spent about 30 minutes taking photos. Before we finished he asked if we had any special requests so I think he would have spent longer if we would have wanted him to. He asked us to give him 30 minutes to download the photos and then we could go over them. There was no time limit on us viewing and deciding. Maybe if we would have been unreasonable he would have moved us along, but we were reasonable in the amount of time we spent deciding.

Thanks for this info klj27! It is good to know that perhaps things aren't quite as rushed along as they might be. Were you happy with your pix? Which resort did you choose?

Thank you to both of you. I will check out that link tonight. Have to take DD to swimming club now. I took the week off work this week as I had some time due to me, but I tell you what, it's double the work and running around as sitting at my desk :rotfl2:

DD and I have never had a professional photo session together (I mean anywhere, not Disney) and I thought it might be something special and a great memory keepsake. We have 15 days there in October so I can easily give up a few hours for this without missing out on anything. Just hope I'm not too late to book.

Thank you again. :goodvibes

I have to tell you that our photos from the GF photo shoot from years ago are among our most treasured possessions. They are truly lovely - we're relaxed, happy, at Disney, and the photographers/equipment/lighting were super! (And I'm not just saying that because we got the pix free! :rotfl2:) But, even the "bad" photos from that shoot were better than pretty much ANY other photos of us we have!

It would be a wonderful memento of your trip and your daughter - I'm sure you wouldn't regret it!

The sessions can only be booked up to 30 days before, so you're fine for an October trip.

We were very happy! We did ours at WL and our photographer was Luis. He did a great job. We had 89 photos on the disk and would consider 33 of them to be good. (Others had someone blinking or other issues.)

We scheduled ours for 9am which was not the best for our day. It was so sunny that he wasn't able to get some of the shots he (and we) would have liked. I am a blinker/squinter and I could not take pictures looking anywhere near the sun. He also had to be creative concerning shadows with sun. Later in the day may have been a better choice, but we are still very happy.

So when the session is done you get a CD that you can use anywhere ? We are going in Oct. and I would love to get some good photos to use for Christmas cards.

We are staying at GF so it would be easy to get this done and sounds fun too ! Thanks.

Yes, if you purchase the cd and package for $100 you get the copyright to all the pictures.

This is great! Sorry about all the questions but I still have more

Are any of the resorts better than the others and how does everyone go about picking which one to use? Or is it all subject to availability/pot luck?

Do the photographers direct you to the poses and places or do you have to take the lead, so to speak?

I think this would be great for us. It's really good value too IMO.

We chose WL because out of the resorts that offer the service this is the only one we have stayed at. WL is also our favorite resort and has good memories for us.

At the start of the shoot he asked if we had any special requests, which we didn't. I think they have a set routine for people who let them lead the shoot. He took our pictures at two spots inside the lodge; whole family, kids, individual kids, and mom and dad. We went out the front door and he had us stop at various locations until we made our way back into the building in the back entrance by the pool.

Ah, thanks. I guess with just 2 of us we should be able to cram in a fair number of pics. I also love WL. Never stayed there yet. I also love the Poly. Hmm, decisions. I am totally sold on this now! (I'm a pushover sometimes :rotfl2:). Thank you again. :flower3:

When we did this at the GF years ago, we did photos inside the lobby and outside throughout the grounds - lots in both areas, but more were outside. Down by the pool and fountain, out on the beach, on the grassy garden areas, etc...

Our favorite resort is the YC, so that's why we're planning this next shoot for over at the BC. We're hoping to do many outside on the beach, Stormalong area, and maybe even some in the YC lobby if we can hustle over there quickly!

We didn't have any special requests when we did this before, but let them take the lead on poses and spots. We did the previous one (and booked this one) for late in the afternoon, so that the sun glare is much reduced - we're kinda squinty people, too!

Glad you both mentioned this. I would never even have thought of it! :thumbsup2

Sorry, I hope this is my last question on the subject. Can this only be booked over the phone? I can't find anything about it on the PhotoPass website - unless I don't know where to look.

Thanks

We just did this a few weeks ago at the AKL. We made the reservation 30 DAYS in advance...we met at 5:30 (right before dinner). I can't remember exact cost but I think it was $79 with our DVC discount?? Anyways, our photographer spent about 30 minutes taking pictures of us inside and outside...he did whatever we asked him to do and had a few ideas of his own. Then we allowed to choose 1 package to have printed....I chose the 10 5x7's. Then every picture he took was put onto CD and handed over to me. I have all the pictures on my computer now and am having a hard time deciding which one or ones to have printed or enlarged.....over 150 pictures were taken and mostly good ones at that! Would definitely do it again.

I think it is just over the phone or in person.

Thanks. I will just call them and find out what the options are. :goodvibes I had kind of been hoping they had something on the website about it so I could get a sneaky preview.

I know. I first clicked on this thread out of curiosity because I had looked at it when we were there last year. But the more I read and posted on here the more I realized that this is one of those things you can't put value on. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, it is just me and my daughter (8) and since I am the one with the camera we hardly have any pics of the 2 of us together. This just seems like one of those things where you spend so much on a vacation that it is hard to justify passing up on the opportunity. Now to decide, Poly or GF, Poly or GF ..... :scratchin
