Price of Pictures

I may need to post this on the budget board too, but need a quick answer to a question.

DS and I each bought a 11 x 14 family portrait for $5 for a fund raiser at a local church. Today we go and look at the portrait we bought and the package they want us to buy.

SIL just called and gave the prices on these portraits. $35 per sheet! Or the package she bought for like 4 poses (several sheets) of her family was $200.

I haven't bought portraits like this in awhile, so not sure of the prices.

What would an 18 x 10 family portrait cost at WalMart Studio or Sears Studio??

$35 just seems like a lot for a picture.

I haven't gotten pictures from a store studio like Target for a while but last time I did they were about $10/sheet so an 8x10 was $10. You don't want to know what we paid for DS17's senior pictures .

Oh, I can imagine! For each of the kid's 1 year old's pictures, senior pictures and few other milestones in between, I went to a studio that I love and had their portraits made and paid hefty for them.

I was just helping out the fund raiser and asked ds to do so to. I really wasn't expecting $35 a sheet. They keep telling me the pictures are fantastic, but I haven't seen them yet.

I know we paid $25 for a 10X13 at Sears at Christmas time.

Portaits are not cheap by any means. It is when they show you the other shots and you want them all , then look out.

I am a sucker for pictures of my family though , get one done every Christmas.
