Price of petals for the aisle?

I just received our floral proposal and everything seems pretty much on target except for petals for the aisle. We are getting married this November in Epcot (Italy). We requested red rose petals for the aisle? When I received my proposal it states "red rose petal fabric aisle runner" with a price of $700.00. This sounds way too expensive. I went back to lurkyloo's planning journal because I know she had bright pink petals on her aisle and I found somewhere where she stated $50.00 for petals on her aisle that everyone told her would blow away (and according to her they didn't).

I have email my floral person and I received an out of office reply so I need to wait for an answer to this but can anyone let me know if you had petals on your aisle how much they cost? I want to be ready when I hear back from them.

Sounds like they are quoting you for a special kind of runner. Aisle petals are $50, or at least they were. But your wording sounds different.

I replied to your post in my trip report, but yes, I was quoted only $50 for scattered rose petals. I think they do the price by cubic foot, or something, so if you wanted a "carpet" of petals it would be more. But it sounds like you were quoted for an aisle runner AND petals.

At that price, all of Italy should be covered in gold leaf rose petals!

I am in the market for rose petal scattering as well. I can't wait till our PS next month....YEAH! I get to say next month now!

Thanks everyone for your quick replies. Yes, $700 is a bit much. If the aisle in Italy is longer then Morocco I can see spending a bit more - but not $650 more. I will have to wait to my floral planner returns to get an answer. At least now I have something to come back at them with regarding the price.

Naive here...probably don't even belong *yet* but can you buy your own (fake) petals to bring to line the aisle?

As I recall, fake petals are not allowed, but you can bring your own real ones - you'll just have to designate someone else to lay them down because Disney Floral won't do it.

The price they quoted me if for a fabric aisle runner with roses printed on the fabric. This sounds very high for a fabric runner and this is not what I want. Lurkyloo, if you don't mind I might send them one of your photos of your aisle with the bright pink flowers and let them know this is what I am referring to. Hopefully I get quoted a price more in the line of yours.

I love the look of the petal toss in all the photos I have seen. It is def. something I plan to use ....
