Price of Disney Autograph book?

the $16.95 photo autograph books were on offer on out trip 2 books for $20

I loooove the postcard opposite a photo idea!! Thanks for that.

I've wanted to make my own but it's stressing out my OCD to think pages might be left blank!

Patsy - I love photoshopping and you can gladly use whichever postcards I make if you wanted to go that route. Xx I can put your DDs names on if you wanted. - PM me x

Does the Disney store at downtown disney carry autograph books? And are they the same price that they are online on the disneystore web page?

As Lee said, pretty much every store on property carries them, including the disney store (which has zillions of them).

Also, i'm pretty sure i saw them at the little merchandise carts that sit right outside the parks.

I know that AK has a cart before you go through the turnstile.
I think the other parks do as well. But they all have carts and shops just inside the turnstiles.

they sell the autograph book and cute little pens.

my kids used the basic disney autograph book only one year.

they got into doing other things with the characters after that.

If you look carefully the little shops at the front of the parks cater quite specifically for things you might have forgotten. I realised this at MK this year when DD suddenly wanted socks and plasters due to blisters before MK opened. I thought we had no hope with a tiny little shop. But actually it had hats, bags, socks, autograph books, sun cream, plasters, raincoats, snacks perfect for carrying about. You get the idea!

absolutely - one of us - i don't recall who - forgot to put on sunscreen before we left in the morning.
i was so relieved to see it in the little cart before the turnstile...
we still had quite a wait before opening - i figured he/she would be apple red by opening time.
thank god they had sunscreen right there!! :thumbsup2

I've made my DD and DS a custom one this year. I designed it in Photoshop and uploaded it to Booksmart, who will print it and post it (use them all the time for my photo books). It cost just under £20 but it will be special to our holiday (we already have two of the blue ones).

I was originally going to make one with a page for each of the characters, but didn't want to come home with unsigned pages. Or, like someone else said, find a character who didn't have a page. So I made each page the same - it's cream with the outline of the characters (like a colouring page) in a faded brown, so that you can see them, but will still be able to write across them. I used the characters that meet in the parks.

A bit off topic, but is there any type of pen you can't use? I was thinking more of a Sharpie pen than a biro/ballpoint, but worry about the characters getting it on their hands/costumes, etc.

The photo book I did for DD for our last trip cost nearly £40, and I can assure you it was worth every penny. What I let her do if there are leftover pages is to use them as a journal and put down points about her best memories from that trip. I now add in a lot more generic pages like you have done but if you have blanks you can let them write in there at the end. It's funny looking back to see what was so important and memorable to a 6 or 7 year old, or any age for that matter. Usually none of the stuff we fret about when planning :rotfl:

I use retractable sharpie markers. You can buy a pack of 2 at WH Smith. I prefer these as I don't have to worry about those annoying lost caps, dried out marker in the bag etc. I put the book in a large ziploc bag and stick the pen in there and DD keeps it like that in her backpack. It protects it and also keeps the pen with it. I make a smaller book for an Epcot passport and use CD markers for signing at the different countries and that works well too. There is no problem with sharpies and the characters, assuming you don't hand them an inked up pen :) The sturdy build of the pen works well and it dries instantly, has never bled through on any of my photo books and is permanent.

Oooooh retractable, sounds like just the thing :) Great idea about the ziplock bag, thanks!!

However if you have an early character breakfast make sure you have it the day before as nothing will be open (learnt that the hard way with a 7.30 at Ohana and no autograph book)

A little story about character meals.

We had luch at Crystal Palace, and found that we had left the autograph book in the car. I was picturing myself running to the nearest shop and I risked asking our waiter, and she said they had autograph books for sale, but only the small ones (only blank white pages, not the one where you can insert pictures).
so she quickly brought us an autograph book, we barely had time to unpack it and pooh was on us :p

The price of the book was charged on our meal. And I didn't pay attention to that, so ended up paying the tip on the pretax price, which included the autograph book.

well, I don't know where she got the autograph book from (obviously she didn't run to a store) and I don't know if all restaurants can get autograph books (or have them readily available, and I sure would like to know if it's standard or not.
I also know it might be different between a 7:30am and a 12:30 ADR, but next time I forget my autograph book, I'll ask the waiter before dashing through the hotel or the park to go buy a new book (I had to do this at Ohana and get a book from the shop next to the photopass kiosk in a hurry ... yes, we tend on forgetting our autograph books a lot, lol, but I probably should have asked the waiter instead)
