and an average bottle of wine price? Trying to decide if it will be worth it to order water/wine/beer through Garden Grocer as opposed to biting the bullet and paying the price at WDW. We will be there for 13 nights, so it could end up costing us a fair bit and plan on spending a fair amount of time around the pool. Does anyone know if you have to order a minimum amount of food to be able to order booze? We are on DDP and if past history is an indication we don't need any extra food at all. Thanks everyone!

Last Year We stayed at the Boardwalk Villas for 10 days. I ordered a case of Corona's, with limes of course though Garden Grocer. At the end of our stay I ended up giving our next-door neighbor a 12 pack upon checkout.. The reason being is that every time I wanted a beer I was in the parks. When I was at the pool I wanted a margarita. Very seldom did I have any interest in alcohol while in our room.

This is what I am thinking, if you intend on having a light breakfast in your room, coffee, bagels, sweet rolls, etc. Then go with Garden Grocer and go with a little beer or some wine for a nightcap.

Enjoy Your Trip

we were just at the Poly.........capt cooks has those little wine bottles........the ones that are just a glass of wine........they were about $7 with tax. they also had ones that were a little bigger, maybe 2-3 glasses of wine, those were about $12 with the tax.
and they only had merlot and chardonnay

I don't know the price, but I do know if you buy a bottle of beer in the resort gift shop it is cheaper than buying it at the bar. If you are a big beer drinker, I would order some from gardengrocer.

I saw a price quoted recently in another thread that said 6 packs were 17.00 in resort gift shops.

GardenGrocer will deliver beer but you need to call them as it is not listed (that I can find) on their site. I have also read that you must order 40.00 worth of other items in order to get beer delivered?? Not sure if that is true or not.

What I usually do is walk across the parking lot at DTD and pick some up at the Hess station. Takes about 15 minutes total and is much cheaper. If I recall correctly I picked up a 12 pack in February for around 8-10.00.

There is also Hess station fairly close to one of the Epcot resorts...BC or BW I think but am not sure. If you do a search for Hess on the boards you will find the thread.

Six packs will run you about $3/can. So about $18. A bottle of wine is around $20 or so. Even for Berriger.

I see you are staying at the Beach Club for at least part of your trip. You can walk over beyond the Boardwalk parking lot to the Hess station that is there and get beer and wine cheaper over there.

You might even consider taking a taxi to a Publix. Case of beer there is about $15 and a box of wine is about the same.

I found the Hess station across from Pleasure Island to be very convenient for picking up supplies. If you get off at the Pleasure Island stop as opposed to the MarketPlace stop it is maybe half a block away right across the street. There is a crosswalk with walk lights also for safety.

Just back from the BC yesterday, I just bought one six pack of beer and it was enough. Sixer of bud light cans $13.99:confused3

Yes, that is what I remember paying also. It was expensive but it wasn't $18.00..If I remember correctly, it was more expensive to buy single beers..at the register they tell you to get the six pack..it comes out cheaper

We're Disney veterans, 39 trips under our belts and the last bunch of stays are in the 8-12 night varieties. That being said, we always return to the resort in the afternoon for some pool and picnic time and nothing goes better with the pool than a cooler full of beer. I used to pay 5 bucks for a bottle or draught and that's nuts. We have a car service pick us up in Kissimmee Amtrak station and it includes a grocery stop, heaven, we pack in sandwich fixings, snacks etc. and next door to this Publix's is an alcohol store. We pick up some wine and a fifth of J. Daniels and beer from the store.

We have a few drinks thru the day, especially in the evenings around the pool, remember were staying 10 nights and whatever is left, usually not much, we either pack it to home with us or leave it for mousekeeping with a note, its left over and they can haave it. I know from experience that drinks on property will send you to the poor house, just one beer and mixed drink for wife runs about 15 bucks and in the Florida sun, nothing quenches my thirst like a good cold beer, so we pack in our own. Publix's prices run just like home, the more you buy, 6 pk to 18 pack to 30 pack, just gets cheaper. Plus, when down by the pool, I'll offer others a brew so having enough or too much is no problem.

If you're staying at BC, just take a short walk over to the Hess station right across from the Boardwalk entrance. Probably a 10 minute walk? I know they have beer, soda, water and other convenience store food - including lots of frozen foods. Not sure if they have wine or not. Prices are MUCH cheaper than any of the resort stores/food courts.
