Price Increases on Food and Beverage...

Well said. It really surprises me how so many people do not understand basic business and economics. Nobody wants to pay more but at the end of the day a $0.30 price increase for an order of popcorn is not a deal breaker. There is a public demand for Disney to pay their CMs more, have new rides, update existing rides, etc. all of that costs $ — that translates into increases in the cost of most things across the board.
Well... but Disney has also made some pretty terrible spending choices lately. The pointless and barely-used 3-hour EEMH at 3 parks for two months in low season, for example. I don't love paying more to bail out Disney's failure to understand basic supply and demand ;)

At the end of the day though, I don't really care much about the price increases here and there. What I care about is how much does the vacay cost overall (pretty easy to calculate) and is that in my budget. I can go on a camping vacation with my family and spend pretty much nothing more than my normal daily expenses. Or I can go to Disney and know that I am going to have to budget a LOT for food. If we end up being priced out of Disney so be it, but it is not Disney's responsibility to make their vacations affordable to everyone. After all, I am still blown away what a Disney vacation offers compared to most other vacations---tons of live entertainment, unbelievable innovations on rides, fireworks every night, themed resorts with elaborate pools. I think it's easy to forget on these boards given all the talk of budgets and money-saving that at the end of the day, a Disney vacation is a luxury.

Bob Iger made $65,600,000.00 last year. If he only took home $62,300,000.00 the cost of Mickey ice cream bars could go DOWN an entire dollar each (3.3 million sold per year).
Corporate greed is at an all time high, and NO they don't need to raise the price of everything 5%, they can just stop ballooning all of the money into their top earners. But instead, all of us middle earners can bear the cost so they can continue to stockpile money they will never be able to spend in their lifetime.

100% agreed. Its the norm during a great economy..its a non issue.
supply vs demand.
If we wanted to save money to offset any increases...We will and have cut out bottled water...water is free and along with fountains there is zero reason the need to buy it in any form. Also, we will eat one less sit down meal. or stay at a value resort...in any case, If any price increase big or small is an issue...there is many many other ways to more than offset any increase.

all important questions we should be asking ourselves as a country.
Continue to let a few people hoard all of the money, or demand fair wages?
Accept the status quo of Capitalism, or demand we operate like 90% of other developed countries and take care of all of our citizens?
Why are so many people okay with shouldering the costs of fair wages for Disney employees while the execs are raking in money hand over fist? Why?

Could I afford this? Yes.

Do I want to pay for this knowing that they are constantly raising prices, offering less for more, neglecting maintenance, adding extra fees, reducing staffing, and then constantly inventing upcharge events to "solve" the problems they created themselves? No. I'll go elsewhere, which I have been since my last trip in March 2018 when I really started to notice the grift.

Smart move. Only way to stop the increases. They are able to get away with it because of "I will go anyway"
