Price increase to come??

Haven't heard anything. Last year they managed to do it without any word leaking out in advance. My thinking is that whenever it is, we're not going to hear about it ahead of time anymore.

Last year was shocking! I was fully expecting a February increase like the year before and was patiently waiting to renew my APs that expired end of February and then bam!

Read an article today speculating it’ll be january, based on historical data.

Probably wishful thinking, but I keep thinking that with last year's drop in attendance, SWGE's lackluster opening, and admitting to share holders that ticket prices might have been part of the driving force behind the drop in attendance... maybe, just maybe they'll hold off on an increase. But, I'm probably wrong😉.

I have no business expirence but I don’t think ticket prices where the problem in summer attendance. I think they blocked too many passes in anticipation of really large crowds that never came because of fear of really large crowds. Hollywood studios in Disney world has been packed since ROTR opened and I think we are gonna see the crowds this spring.

I know nothing but I think they will do it before ROTR opens. Lots of people are going to want to see it and they will try and capitalize on that.

Happened to me too! Mine expires in March (can do 60 days in advance since it is the Premier for both parks and want the 60 day fastpass booking for WDW). I knew I was going late January for a few days and completely planned to renew when I was there for those days and then they upped the price a few weeks earlier than normal. So I got the higher price.

I’m not so sure about ticket prices, but I think we’re going to see an expansion of the Flex pass model. I expect there would be demand for a product where you could reserve three or four days at a time. That would certainly be appealing to me and I would pay more for that.

I completely agree that annual passes were definitely a factor, but I think it was a lot more than that, and Disney has acknowledged that. This is a quote from Bob Iger at the 3rd quarter call.

"On the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge front, to give you some color, I think a number of things happened. First of all, Helped in part by some of our efforts there was tremendous concern in the marketplace that there was going to be huge crowding when we open Galaxy's Edge. And so some people stayed away just because they expected that it would not be a great guest experience. At the same time that was going on all the local hotels in the region, expecting a huge influx of visitation raise their prices. So, it's simply got more expensive to come stay in Anaheim. In addition to that, we raised our prices we brought our daily price up, so if you think about local visitation we brought the price of a one-day ticket up substantially from a year ago. And then we have opened up Galaxy's Edge with one attraction instead of two, the second attraction is going to open in January. And so all of those factors contributed to attendance that was below what we would have hoped it would be. That said guest satisfaction interest in the attractions in the land is extremely high. They are among the most popular thing at the park and so long-term and look, we build these things for the long term, we have no concerns whatsoever about them, we're opening Galaxy's Edge in August in Orlando. The second attraction there will open in December. And as I said, the second attraction in Anaheim will open in January."

The reason I say that is that you never know, if they don't get the numbers of people in the parks that they were hoping for after RotR opens, they may offer a special AP deal, like "13 months for the price of 12." They did that just a few years ago. If you buy too early, and a de al comes out, you will miss out.

That special deal was to match the offer WDW did for the 45th anniversary.

I see now! thanks for the information!
