Price Increase - Just received this - READ

Dear DVC Member:

The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge opened November 15, 2000 and have been very popular ever since. If current conditions continue, The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge will be sold out in the upcoming months. If you are interested in purchasing an additional ownership interest in this resort, we encourage you to call without delay.

Effective June 3, 2001 the price of purchasing an ownership interest at any Disney Vacation Club Resort will increase from $72.00 to $75.00 per Vacation Point. To add to your Membership before this increase takes place, we recommend that you call immediately to lock in the current price.

Please keep in mind, while an additional ownership interest can be purchased at any Disney Vacation Club Resort where inventory is available, the additional purchase must have the same Use Year as your master contract. Some Use Years will sell out sooner than others.

Your Vacation Club Guide can help you determine if you have enough Vacation Points to accommodate all of your future needs, providing even more opportunities for you and your family to enjoy special times together at some of the finest resorts and hotels in the world. Thanks for the update!! I wonder how soon VWL will actually sell out?

If it's selling out so quickly,what's their motivation to warn us of an up-coming price increase ? If anything that would cause a quicker sellout leaving only VB & HH to sell till BCV is open. Just seems odd.

it might just get some who were thinking about an add-on at say HH to go ahead to save a few dollars. Wouldn't be much of a savings but with Disney any savings is good. Just a thought. And before anyone says why would anyone add-on to HH, the answer is because it is a wonderful resort.

They always warn DVC members of an upcoming price increase. Can you imagine the screaming if they didn't?

Could you post the address that the link to subscribe to these updates takes you to? I have no idea why, but I don't get emails from DVC unless I have contacted them via email about something.

We have always received notice each tine the price is to increase. I think it is a nice courtesy.

Lesley, make sure you are on the mailing list. In the past they've always sent out a letter. This is the first time I got an e-mail notice of a price increase. I forget the exact procedure they had for getting on the e-mail list but I think if you send an e-mail to MS with the address you'd like them to use and a request to start receiving e-mail notifications that should do it.
