Price Dropped on my flights for August- Southwest

That's a big drop! I try to remember to check my SW flights every few weeks. My Sept flights to MCO have gone up up up, with one now showing the lowest fare sold out.

The $115 was the lowest price I've seen and those were available right when the fares were released. I couldn't buy at that time since I was still firming up our plans. When I went to buy my tickets, ALL the flights had shot up in price and a few fares were sold out. Lo and behold all the flights to/from Tampa have dropped back down to opening day fares and none are sold out. I was really lucky :) Hope your fares drop too!

SAme situation for August SW flights. They dropped a few weeks ago and started to climb back up today.

Mine just dropped for the 2nd time since booking. Now my family has over $350 in credit!

I watch SW everyday for a price drop. So far I have 60 dollars in credit to use on my next flight.

It's our first time flying to the world. I booked our flights this morning when the new dates released. What exactly do I need to do if our rates drop? What's the protocol to get the credit of the difference in rates? TIA for any information.

If you booked together, the price will have to be the same for everyone on the confirmation code. Ie if you book 2 people together, you'll have to find 2 tickets with lower price.

To get the credit, got to "Change Flight". Go through the process as if you're changing your flight. Pick the same flight you've been booked and it'll charge the new price and apply your old flight's credit. The remaining credit will be under the same confirmation code, tied to the same passenger, and expire 1 year from when the original flight was purchased.

Thanks for the directions! Exactly what I needed!

Can you continue reducing fares? I was able to reduce the fare for one leg of our trip by $6 and then it dropped another $2, but it's not letting me change it again.

Well we found out two years ago there is a "limit" to the number you can change. We had taken advantage of the price drop twice and then we tried to leave a day earlier, no penalty BUT they flag it as a security risk. We had to call into SW, it took us over an hour to get all the stuff moved and changed since they essentially had to rebook everything, including our returning flight. It didn't cost us more but they have a max change and for the four of us, it hit the limit

We are also flying out of BWI into MCO in August. I checked just this morning and the price has been the same for the last few weeks. I purchased our tickets back in Feb and I've only seen the price for our flight into MCO increase once and it was for $36 bucks, since then nothing.

Yeah, I've heard that changing your flight to leave earlier is a red flag.

BTW I called SW and they said my original reduction didn't go through, but I got this one which was a little lower. I didn't ask if there is a limit, though, but I should have.
