Price difference between eating dinner in the park vs. area restaurants?

Okay, I have officially decided that we'll stay in the parks for dinner. Sounds like it won't really be any more expensive, and it will save us time and headaches trying to find places to eat. I'm so grateful for these boards! Thanks everyone.

I LOVE the idea of getting Mio or something similar to mix into water. We hardly ever buy drinks when we go out to eat, and doing this will help us feel like we're getting something more exciting than water without costing a fortune. Great tip!

I can't remember what we spent at Taste Pilots, but it was something less than $40. Food is decent, and the toppings bar is excellent. I think that place is a true value for Disneyland.

We are a family of 5 and go to Disneyland every year. We have three girls ages 16,14, and 12 we eat ALL our meals and snacks in the park and our food budget is $150/day. We are able to eat quite well on that budget without having to leave the park or store food in our hotel. I think your budget of $100 for snacks and $40-50 for dinner is just fine, especially since your kiddos are younger and you'll be eating breakfast at your hotel.

We are going to Costco before our trip and he is taking 3 36can packs with us. He won't go unless the Pepsi comes with us. Luckily we are driving, and have a mini fridge in the hotel

We are Pepsi fiends too and will be packing it in our bags with us we have to take a bus but we go no where with out Pepsi.

When I told him that all of DL and DCA has coke products, he just looked at me and said we are buying Pepsi and bringing it with us

We stayed at the DLH last year and got so tired of $100 dinners for our family of 4' that we decided to walk down Katella to try and find something more reasonable! We found a Denny's which served us just perfectly....kids got to build their own burgers, had milkshakes and I think we walked out if there only around $40 lighter. There are a couple of other restaurants like that right around there, too. I know that's not really as close to you as it was for us, but if you have a car (we didn't)--it would be fine :)

I think you could do it. We did a few dinners of boardwalk pizza, flo's, carnation cafe and jolly Holliday that were around 30 for 3 of us. Some tips are to drink ice water, and eat early so you can get lunch prices. Our typical was to eat breakfast early, eat a snack, then do our big meal around 3. Mostly because we wanted room for ice cream later in the evening lol! Oh, and our daughter ate a lot off our plates. Sometimes we bordered 2 entrees and one side, then gave her some of our entree too. Worked great!

There is a Red Robin less than 2 miles from the park. I seem to remember their prices were the same as usual and not inflated. We snacked late than afternoon and then left the park at closing during off-peak season and had a late dinner. Huge plus was saving most of our entree to eat for lunch the next day and filling up on those bottomless steak fries!
