previous travel document(child passport)?

I am filling out my childs passport form and it asks if the childhas a canadian passpprt been issued and is it still valid, if yes specify. well he does have a passport it was a 3 year as he was under 3 an it expired in february so what do i exactly fill out? i was thinking no an then fill in passport info that is expired, but don't want to get it sent back lol

If you take to a passport or service Canada office, they will verify it for you. I believe you are to indicate you have one and it is expired

I believe the wording is a VALID Canadian Passport, and in that instance, it would be no. I just checked our application as it's stored in a PDF in my laptop, and it definitely says VALID.

We just renewed all of ours, and our little guy was the only one with an expired passport, and so we checked NO, and that was correct as verified by the Passport office.

Incidentally, our Passports arrived within 7 days! Very fast! Tiger

Make sure you take your childs long-form birth certificate as well. I recently got new passorts for my two younger kids and renewed our 8 year olds passport. I had long-form birth certificates for the new passports, but was told by someone that I wouldn't need one for the renewal - that info was wrong. I was sent home and had to order the long-form certificate. So save yourself some time and make sure you have it with you

thanks, there is no office anywhere close an last time i calle which was a couple months ago they said i don't need the full as he already had a passport , and it is all on file, but if the passport was expired for 12 months or more then i would have to send in a long one. I sure hope they were right

There is a lot of discrepancy and confusion regarding the long form cert.

We ordered the long form after reading it here on the DIS, despite not finding any info on the Passport website that confirmed that.

Our little guy's Passport had been expired for 16 months, and we were not required to show our long form cert at all. I did put the long form cert number on the Passport app, but when my hubby handed in all the documents for our renewals, they agent said we did not need the long form cert.

Not sure if you will need it or not, so good luck with that.

Your right about the discrepancies because I called and was told I didn't need the long-form because there was still a month before DS's passport expired, but the clerk at the office wanted the long-form. The clerk even discussed it with the supervisor.
