How did you keep in touch with your guests whilst away? We will be staying at 3 different locations between us (both sets of parents not on Disney property)

Our UK mobiles are triband so should work in US but I know it costs so much to use a UK Sims abroad. I was thinking about purchasing 3 US pay as you go Sims. Is this possible? I'd then put in our UK handset (unlocked to network). When we were last in states we saw a relatively cheap T Mobile handset and prepay sim which runs out if no top up after 3 months. Is this perhaps the only option?

My family have never been to states before and after sitting through their planning session (I lost the will...) I'd feel much happier knowing that we can all be contacted in an emergency.

Any tips greatly appreciated.

I have to say, that the US cell phone system isn't nearly as advanced as that in Europe. Good luck.

We're in a similar situation. All our guests are staying in Disney but some are on different flights. It would be handy to contact them by phone at any time. Are the phone cards you can buy for uk phones any good?

My family that flew in from out of the states(Australia) just went to the local, Target/Kmart/Walmart...and picked up a pay as you go phone....it was like 35 dollars for the phone and 20 dollars for the phone min...(the min lasted them about 14 days)...and then just trashed the phones before they left....worked out nicely considering there where so many of us...

I agree get the pay as you go phones if you go to Target.com they have tracfone motorolla phone for $19.99. The minutes for the prepaid phones are very comparable. They have 60 minutes for $20. Other companies that have prepaid phones are virgin mobile, Verizon Wireless, and Cingular Wireless.

Thanks for the info. Seems Target has the answer for everything - Wish we had them in UK...

Just checked on website and they don't ship internationally. I guess that's another thing to add to the list when we get there. :cool1:
