Prevailing rate for adding another person

I have a stateroom that was booked on Opening Day for two people. One adult, one child - obviously, the child is paying the second (adult) fare for the room.

Many months later, I am now looking at the possibility of adding another adult to the res.

By adding the second adult, will I keep the grandfathered Opening-Day fares for Guest 1 & Guest 2, and only pay prevailing rate on Guest 3?

Or will I lose the Opening-Day fare in Guest 2, and pay prevailing rates both for Guest 2 & Guest 3?

I ask because I am wondering if the child needs to be bumped to Guest 3, so she’s not listed as the second “adult” (Guest 2) on the res.

If that were the case, then we would have a new person (the second adult) designated as Guest 2. Will that new name lose the Opening Day rate?

Hopefully that makes sense.....

Yes, it makes sense, but I'm not sure how DCL would handle it. Just my opinion, the new guest (adult) would become #2 (at old rate) and the child would be come #3 at the prevailing cost.

You need to actually call and talk to a reservations CM, and if they're not sure either (or if you feel they aren't really understanding what you're asking), ask for a supervisor.

Thanks. I actually have a TA, so I will bug her about it once I am committed to adding the third person.

My question is really academic. If we decide to add the third person, we’re gonna do it regardless of what the answer to my question is. But I was curious, since I know this kind of thing can be tricky.
