So I’ve never written a trip report before even though I’ve been almost every year for close to 29 years... so why start now? Just cause I suppose.

Now for the 5 Ws...

This was take a few years back
WHO: This list is pretty short... It’s just me! I will be 29 years old while on my trip. I’ve always loved Disney almost to the point where my friends are sick of hearing about my next trip. I am a job coach at a private Special Education school (so yes I am skipping 3 days of school don’t tell any one ;) )
WHAT: A solo trip! It’s so peaceful when I go solo...
WHEN: March 11-15 2011
WHY: Because I’ve always wanted to go to Disney for my birthday. I’ll be 29 on March 12th! :woohoo:
WHERE: Pop! standard room

Of course most people will say well why don’t you go either Feb. or April break? And I will say back to you... Nah that’s ok.. I actually did have a trip planned to go to Universal and Red Sox spring training Feb. break but it seemed that I would not have the money I would need to go so I was just going to cancel but I have/had 350 in south west credits to use by June 1 ( I was suppose to go to Disney in early December but that’s a whole other story). I had checked to see what the price would be to fly down in April but holy cow 500 just for a one way?! :scared1: No way... Then I thought what if I went down for the re-launch of Star Tours but that seemed SOOOO far away... Then I though well heck my birthday is in March lets check it out...
I checked several different hotels with all the different discounts that are currently available and finally landed on a AAA rate standard room at the Pop. They didn’t have any annual pass holder rooms but I plan to call back a few times over the next few weeks to see if one opens up. Since I figure that’s probably a better rate.

Let me tell you I went back and forth for hours trying to really decide if I can afford to go... I already had the flight book that was the easy part since I was only shifting credits around. I must have called Disney 5 times that day until around 6pm that night I just bite the bullet and said you only live once what the heck lets do it! So with Mouseworld radio playing on my computer (which might have been the whole cause of this situation since I listen to it while cleaning the house) I made the call and booked my room!

Then the flurry of planning started! Well not to much flurry.. but I made the spreadsheet of park hours, started the packing list and put a countdown on my iGoogle page.

Now only 39 days 22 hours

Will my plans stay the same? Can I convince any one to come with me? Will I actually make a table service adr for my birthday? Stay tuned and watch the story unfold!

Thanks for checking me out... :dance3:

Only 14 days to go!
I paid off the last of my room off today which is pretty exciting for me..

I made 2 adr's
I managed to snag a Le Cellier for my birthday at 7:50 :cool1: I can't wait to see what the new menu will be like...
I also got myself a Yak and Yeti for lunch.. I signed up for the landry's select club so I will have $50 in credits ($25 for registering and $25 for birthday month)

I plan on bringing down snacks, water, and soda to bring with me to the parks. I was able to hop onto a fridge swap which will be a life saver not only because I can keep drinks and food cold but it also has a COFFEE MAKER! :thumbsup2

In the past I've brought down my Keurig mini but this will be easier

So now all I have to do is get through 9 work days and 4 weekend days and I will be off to the world!

I just had to post when I read your details as we were born on exactly the same day!!! :woohoo:

Can't believe you only have 14 days left before your trip! I have to wait until September. We are also staying at the same resort and on the same Pop fridge swap list...looking forward to hearing if we have any other similarities! ;)
