hi

its getting close and im soooooooooooooooo excited.

i have a few questions as usual.

where can you buy and how much are mickey mouse ears? someone bought me a pair when i was little and i was thinking of bringing these back as gifts for my niece, cousin and friends son. mine had my name on it and i had them for years.

i was also looking for ideas for gifts for my dd's freinds. dd9 wants to buy her best friend a gift and something smaller for her three other mates. dd5 wants to buy her three friends the same thing. i was hoping to get something not too big for these children (and not too expencive).

also how much and where can i get autograph books? can you buy the pen over there too?

i was thinking i would like to buy little gifts for a few other people too. things you can only get at wdw for my mam, dad, gran. adult couples mainly. maybe joint gifts?

i dont want to spend too much time and money on gifts for other people though. (selfish but true)

what have you guys bought or what did you see that you thought would make a cool gift?

love

as always

lucy

You can get really cool Mickey (and other characters) shaped pens which you can give out as little gifts. Also key rings and magnets.

Autograph books can be purchased at nearly every gift shop along with a nice big fat pen - not too sure of the price though.

You can get the Mickey Ears on Main street in MK I think and I know in MGM you can get them and other personalised things like guest of honor badges.

I will have a think about what else :)

thanks for that info you are a star. im so excited i think i might cry or wee or both.

Hi Lucy,

keep an eye on Ebay for autograph books. I bought my DS a "Mickey Mouse Florida" one, and my DD a "Disney Princess Florida" one, both about £1 each!!

Someone had apparently bought too many out there and listed them here on Ebay! My kids dont even know Ive got them, Im collecting little bits like this to put in their hand luggage as a surprise!

I bought nice fat pens from the Disney Store in their sale, again very cheap!

There's so much you can buy for just a few dollers each. It's especially easy buying for little girls. There's jewellery, stationery like pens and pencils, badges, hair things, lollipops, fridge magnets. You'll be spoilt for choice. For the adults, we often buy edibles like luxury chocolates or biscuits. They've survived the journey home just fine.
A good place to shop, if you wanted to get all your gift shopping done in one go, is World of Disney at Downtown Disney. It's a huge shop, with so much in it, and Downtown Disney is a great fun area to walk around and eat at. We usually go early evening, shop for a bit, then eat at The Rainforest cafe.
Have a great time!

Make sure you check out the stores at Belz and Premium Outlets that sell a lot of park merchandise at up to 50% off!! All the stuff they sell is official WDW merchandise but maybe last season's stock?? I always buy loads of stuff there - and people back home will never know it was half price!!!

Hi Lucy,

There are a surprisingly large number of cool gifts to be had for others. By surprising, I imagine you don't want to be taking back tacky / naff stuff as pressies.

What I really like are my super cool Mickey Mouse kitchen accessories. They are very kitsch :teeth: and I have a number of different things such as a Mickey whisk, Mickey & Minnie ice cube tray, sal and pepper pots (with ears!), Mickey bottle opener etc. These may (or may not depending on the adult!) make good gifts?

There's been some really good suggestions already, and you will find lots of cheaper stuff in the shops Cath suggested - as she rightly says, noone will ever know it's last season's stuff - and let's be honest if you are 5 or 9 you aren't going to care as long as it has Disney World on it!

In August 2002 in the parks autograph books were $5 and fat pens $1.50.

Friends brought our 2 DD's autograph books back in May for our upcoming trip they were $6 each.

thats cool. as we are staying at the akl and thats the rainforest cafe we plan on going to. im so excited now. and i cant stop talking about it. what am i going to do. faint, wee, cry??????

on another note. my dd9 has always been scared of water unlike my dd5 who has been able to swim for over a year and jumps in the deep end any chance she gets. i wanted this hol to be perfect so over the hols i have really perservered and taught dd9 to swim (admittedly doggy paddle) and now she has loads of confidence in the water. just thought i would share that with you.

oh oh just over 3 weeks hurray

Hi Lucy

Ds2 wanted to bring back things for his class mates(thankfully a small class and the class room assistants).

He liked the face flannels that are all small and dehyrated (if you know what I mean) and grow when you get them wet. The one he chose for himself is still going strong 2 years on. They take up no space on the way home and only cost a few $ each. He also picked out some lovely pens for the class room assists.
