Where is the machine in China. A friend of mine collected all the pennies in World Showcase during a recent trip but was unable to find the machine in China. She asked me to check in Nov for her.
Take both types, press a couple of each, and decide which you like best!
We did this last year (clean older pennies, and brand new pennies) and did several of each... we actually prefer the look of the new pennies (we have no distortion) over the older ones!
We have a big M&M container staggered with 2 quarters, 1 shiny new penny (repeated) for the upcoming trip!
Hi! It is .50 cents + your penny so .51 cents total.
There are pressed penny machines everywhere (DTD, Resorts, the four parks, and I am guessing the waterparks as well) and it is a really fun souvenier to find, press, and keep!
The books (well as of last September) were under $7.00. Ours was a quad-fold book, with see-through pockets, that holds 64 pennies I believe.
There are also pressed quarter machines (we only pressed one quarter, thankfully our DS wanted to do pennies only) but I think the quarters cost $1.00 total (.75 cents to press and then the quarter to be pressed). Pressed quarters will not fit into the penny book as they are to large for the pockets.
Somewhere online there is a "master list" of the press machines for pennies and what designs are available for each. Any Dis members know that link right off? I will see if I can find it for you if no one posts the link!
Here's a link to the master list of the different pressed penny and quarter locations. I liked the one on the bottom night hand side the best. The current list with short description. But the others are good too!
Oops. I don't have enough posts yet to post links. So it's presscoins dot com. Then look for the "listings" drag down menu and go to "current listings"
We ran into this problem before at one of the resorts. The front desk CM was glad to press the coins for us when the machines were repaired. We just left the coins and our address. They mailed them to us when "smashed".

I'm going with pre 1982 pennies in May. I soaked them in vinegar for about 2 hours on each side. After they were rinsed and dried I used metal polish and they are very shiny now. I tried cleaning one penny with metal polish before using the vinegar soak and that was hard work, but after the vinegar treatment it takes less than 1 minute per penny to make them really shine.
I saved a lot of plastic film canisters prior to getting a digital camera in 2004 so I did not have to go look for m&m tubes - darn!
I couldn't find China with DD9 either. I asked and she said it wasn't in China, it was somewhere else. My list which is a little old says it can be found at the International Gateway-World Traveler.
I'm going to find it and get it for DD9 during my solo trip.
Yep, according to penny collector.com the China penny press is at the International Gateway World Traveler. And the one for Japan is listed as being at Disney Traders Showcase Plaza East. The other 9 pavillions all have a press or two or three inside their pavillions.
