Anyone else out there absolutely mad about them?
I have 6 books almost filled - I hope to complete them this visit!!
My problem is getting enough quarters for the machines as the quarter machines take 5!!
I also am helping a friend at work's daughter complete her 1 book as she only cottoned on to the craze at the end of her holiday. This unfortunately means that I have to get even more quarters!!
Any suggestions as to where to get them from without asking in the shops as I hate queing up just for them.

I can't help you with your question- and we don't have near as many as you.... but we're working on it! LOL The kids love those machines and man they are a lot cheaper than buying souveniers in each store. Way cheaper. :) I'm sure we'll collect more on our next trip. (Ps. I like the penny machines better than the quarter ones. LOL)

Are you staying at a Disney Resort? If so, you can use the laundry or arcade machines to convert US dollar bills to quarters.

For the compulsive in me....I pack the coins in my suitcase for my DD and DN. We making going to the bank part of our pre-trip ritual. The quarters we put the rolls in the hole. The pennies we shine before we go and put in a sandwich bag. Than the girls add how evermany quarters they are willing to spend that day to the bag and through it in their fanny pack. They do this to pace themselves so the last day they still have some. Some nights they actually make it back to the hotel with extras. They usually get 2 rolls of quarters and a roll of pennies for 5 days.

Good luck
Sandy

I also pack them from home.. in film canisters .. 2 quarters 1 penny and then i have one with just quarters.. we each have 2 canisters - then if / when they are gone we dig thru our change if we need more.. Michelle

What I forgot to say and you may not have noticed is that I'm from the UK and we don't have access to american coins only notes so I have a limited number of quarters (I have a few pennies)

Hi,

You should be able to go to a ticket
booth, city hall or the like, and ask
for rolls of quarters. There is $ 10.00
worth of quarters in a roll. If you are
staying off site you could even stop
by a bank and get as many rolls as
you think you might need for your
whole trip. Good luck.

Sorry, I missed that. Your hotel front desk should be able to help you than.

Good luck

Is there a list of where all the machines are to make pressed pennies? How much does it cost to do? Do any of the shops sell books to hold your pressed pennies in?

Here is a website that I visit, it lists all the pressed penny machines located in WDW. It hasn't been updated since Oct. 2002, but hopefully this will help:

You can also obtain a list of the coin pressing machines at Guest Services as you enter the park. I obtained a list a year ago at EPCOT while waiting inside the park before the rope drop. I do not remember if the list had just penny machines or if it also included the quarters. Good luck!

BarbaraMB: Since I work at the Fab Walt Disney World... I have a master list that is avaiable for the penny press. It shows them all over the property. If you want to send me an email...

have a magical day
