At DL is there an option to "hole punch" for lack of a better term into the penny to allow it to be made into a necklace?

Some of our pressed pennies machine in Australia can do that after the penny comes out, if you put it into another section of the machine.

My daughter has printed the list and is very excited to expand on her collection, thanks!

There is not.

We just collected all the pennies we could on our last trip, and it was a blast! It also worked as a good distraction in times of need, like when my daughter was crying after going on Tower of Terror. Trying to console her, and finally, "Oh look, a penny machine!" calmed her right down. :)

LOL! Great distraction indeed!

Bummer about the no holes but she'll love it all the same I am sure.

Thanks for replying :)

No hole punch, but what a great idea!! I have a friend that did that to hers afterwards on her own and made a charm bracelet out of them :)

They do have great little books with slots to hold all the pennies and some slots for the pressed nickles ~ they are $8.95 if I remember correctly. I purchased the 60th Anniversary version back in July to highlight all the coins we did that are special for this year.

Also, something we found out about on our 3rd or 4th day there that you might want to ask about ~ Disney has a printed brochure with all the pressed penny / nickle machines listed and it lets you check them off as you go. I know you said that your daughter had printed off the list, but the brochure is a nice glossy tri-fold that would be a fun addition to her collection. They were available at most gift shops that have the penny machines and at the Guest Services areas of the parks and hotels.

Have a great trip! pixiedust:

Thanks Bellazachmom that's good to know and that's exactly what she'd like to do too!

Do they happen to have little sleeve/boxes or similar to keep individual ones safe too? She's already planning to buy her friends their favourite ones too!

These books are great, but if you plan to pick up *all* the pennies, you'll need 3. As far as a printed brochure, just go to parkpennies.com and print off their list. It's going to be a bit more inclusive of the DTD coins and such, plus sometimes the cashier's will not have the brochure available.

They don't, IIRC.

Actually, the brochure we picked up in July is new for the 60th Anniversary and included all the new machines as well as those in DTD and the ones in the hotels.
