IS connected to the shootings from last week.

This person(s) must be caught!

Oh No Blondie, I was hoping hope against hope that this person would be caught before they could act out again. You and your family will be in my prayers. Have you decided what to do about school on Tuesday yet? I just could not belive that you could not get them...I guess "they" know best huh?

  these fools needs to be stopped..

Was there really any every doubt? Not on my part.

I have to say I was truly impressed with the P.G. County Chief of Police. He seemed very determined that this madman would be caught and punished appropriately.

That person is so sick. :( :( How many more victims must there be before the person(s) resonsible are caught?

Police Chief Moose's words and reactions were very moving during this afternoon's press conference. He said something to the effect of "a mean spirited person who would shoot at a child....it's personal now."

It is indeed!

So, this person was connected, but the person found dead in a car was NOT?

I'm not a native DC person, but my thought was were this person in the car was, was possibly a robbery or drive by.

Its all over the news here as well.

Cindy, the person shot in his vehicle was related to a robbery. It is NOT connected to the shootings from last week, and earlier today with the 13 year old boy.

Authorities this evening said evidence recovered at Maryland school where 13-year-old boy was wounded this morning matches that found at other sniper attacks in area.

Authorities announced this afternoon that the shooting of a 13-year-old boy outside a Maryland school this morning is linked to seven other sniper attacks in the Washington area.

“The evidence is consistent with other evidence recovered at the other scenes,” Prince Georges, Md., police Chief Gerald Wilson said at a news conference around 5 p.m.

Joe Reihl of the Baltimore office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms said the bullet that struck the boy is identical to those recovered from sniper attacks in Montgomery County, Md., Washington and Spotyslvania County.

Investigators said they are looking for a white panel truck that witnesses said they saw near the school. The witnesses told police they saw a white man in the driver’s seat and a rifle on the dashboard.

“We’re in the process of narrowing down witnesses who may have seen a white box truck,” Wilson said. “The person could be in a different vehicle now.”

Today’s shooting occurred shortly after 8 a.m. outside Benjamin Tasker Middle School in Bowie, Md. Jacqueline D. Bowens, a spokeswoman for Children’s Hospital in Washington, said the boy sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest. He underwent surgery and was listed in critical but stable condition, she said.

The boy is the eighth victim of a sniper who has terrorized the Washington area over the past six days.

Five people were shot to death by a sniper in a 16-hour span in Montgomery County Wednesday and Thursday. A sixth victim was killed Thursday in Washington. On Friday, a woman was shot and wounded outside the Spotsylvania Mall. She survived and was listed in fair condition today.

Thanks, I thought I had the info correct.

Some local newscasts here (won't name names) are sensationalizing it, so I wanted to get the correct story.

This is so unbelievable. :(

Is there an update on the boy? Last I heard he was in surgery.

My heart really goes out to all of you up there. It must be so awful to be afraid to leave your house. :( :( :(

No updates on the boy as far as I know. I did hear the surgeon say that if all went as expected, he thought the boy would pull through. Pray God that happens.

Cindy, in answer to a question of yours I saw on another thread, all of these counties, with the exception of Spotsylvania County, border on D.C. Bowie, where the boy was shot, is within 20 miles or so of downtown D.C., the Montgomery County murders all varied in location, but the furthest one was probably no more than a 40 minute drive from D.C., the closest 10 minutes. This mentropolitan D.C. area is small in scope, large in population. Fredericksburg, Virginia is a little further out, probably an hour (right, Blondie?) away from D.C. Still close enough though that a native to this area would know all of these places well. They do believe that the sniper is a native Washingtonian and that he will stay in this immediate area where he feels comfortable.

This may help a bit.

So very sad, so wrong. Pray this person/s get caught, soon.

I'll pray for all of you in that area, and also that anyone who knows this person or thinks they may have some information however small, will be given the courage to come forward.
Truly frightening....

That is so unbelievably frightening.. I hope they catch this animal soon - BEFORE anyone else is killed!!
