President's Week rental rates

All I can say is "Yikes".

I'm looking at minimum $65/day for a compact or economy car...
Have folks had any luck in the past with getting those rates down?
I was hoping to book a car between our cruise (Feb 16) and our trip back to WDW for the Princess Half Marathon (arriving Feb 24).

Ugh, ugh, ugh. Right now I'm settling for a one way rental from Port Canaveral to West Palm Beach for one day (to visit my dad)) and then a one way, one day rental from West Palm Beach to Orlando for one day (to get there for the half-marathon and our stay).

That's running me around $180 total, which is way cheaper than the $1200 I was looking at for a 10 day rental.

Do people really pay those rates?

You can try Budget using BCD Number x474200 (travelocity public code) and E-Coupon MUGZ029 for $30.00 off. I assumed you were flying in and put of Orlando and used Feb 16 - 24th for rental period. Total for a compact is $287.09 inc taxes after $30 coupon is applied when return vehicle.

WOW - Think I may have gotten a good deal - $206 with my corporate discount for a compact 2/15-2/21 through Enterprise. Booked it last month as a starting place - may be a finishing point now! Good Luck!

You have to shop early for President's week. We get our flights and rental car almost a year in advance.
