President's Week or Late July

We are starting to think about a trip to San Diego to visit cousins, and would like to visit DL. We've never been to California before. Which might be better - President's Week in Feb. or late July/early August? Heat isn't really an issue as we always go to DW in late August but which might have smaller crowds? Would appreciate any opinions. Thanks.

Crowds would definitely be smaller in February--July is one of the busiest times at Disneyland. The only disadvantage to going in Feb. is that the park will close early, and there won't be parades and shows except on the weekends. There also may be rides down for rehab.

In the summer, Disneyland is open till midnight, and there are fireworks and parades each night. I guess you have to decide which is more important!
