Anyone else start booking their airfare for President's week 2012? I just booked us BDL-MCO leaving Wednesday February 15. Since all 4 of us each had a $100 travel voucher(for a very long mechanical flight delay this past Feb) for Delta it only ended up costing us $34.70 for the one way down. Haven't decided about our return trip yet. Have some skymiles coming to us soon so at least I think we'll be able to save $100 each on our return flight too.

I did just last week. Although I can't leave as early as you. My wife works for the school system and we don't like to take the daughter out for too many days so the earliest we'll leave is Friday. We had great NS flights on AA out of JFK this past February so when they dropped to reasonable last week I grabbed them. We still need to get back as well so I'm still looking. You got great flights out of bradley. I've only flown out of BDL twice over the years because the flights are so much more money.

I was on the net site a couple of minutes before 9:00 a.m. EST and kept refreshing the screen. All of a sudden, all days showed up as available. It took what appeared to be an interminably long time for the reservation to go through, but it finally did.

Hi Jenn!

Great minds think alike! I am on the fence about booking. Trying to decide if we go to Florida or back to SC to visit grandparents. We had a great time this Feb. and had awesome weather....AND it cost less than a $1000 for ten days since we had a place to stay.

That means I could squeeze in a couple more trips throughout the year with all that money.

BUT I miss Disney. Kids don't care one way or the other which makes it harder. Right now I can book Direct Air for $1000 total for all five of us. I know they may be riskier for cancellations, but my neighbors flew them this Feb. and raved about them.

What to do? Decisions, decisions!

Where are you thinking of staying?

And GREAT deal on your air!!!!

Heather

Hi Heather!
Since we took this February off from Disney I really want to go next February. I missed it too though we did enjoy our vaca this year! I think we will do 5 nights onsite at Disney then 5 nights offsite in a condo. We did really like having the extra space. But we like onsite for the evening extra magic hours. We'll probably rent points from my bro-in-law for the Disney portion.
We actually considered the Direct Air flights but since we had the Delta vouchers we decided to go with Delta. I'm waiting for some miles to post to my account then we'll probably book the return portion soon. When all is said and done I think we'll spend no more that $140 per person roundtrip. And we don't have to pay for bags since I have the Delta American Express.

We always travel to Florida for President's week and had, without question, the best weather we ever had this past February. It was sunny and over 80 degrees everyday! Didn't see a drop of rain. So if you visit Florida for sunshine, like we do, it delivered in spades for 2011. Keeping our fingers crossed for 2012.

Yes Jeff we have gone to FL President's week for the last 10 years. This year was the best weather we have ever had!! Last year 2010 we froze! I just pray for temps at least 70 or above!!

Jenn..That is great for the airfare!

You should check out Bonnet Creek for your offsite nights. I think you would really like it. It is a beautiful resort and "onsite" for all intents and purposes. Pools are awesome with a couple lazy rivers and the all important tiki bar. And the location cannot be beat. Other bonus is that the kids could even take the shuttle buses if you wanted to split up. The ONLY downside for me is that they are high rises. Even though you have a balcony, I just love walking out a door to the outside grass.

I have rented twice from Rick Sirmon on myresortnetwork.com. No problems whatsoever. Great to work with.

This year I got a quote of $99 a night for a two bedroom from another owner on there...but I cannot remember his last name. First name was John. That
includes all taxes and cleaning.

Just some ideas To check out since the planning is half the fun!

Last year 2010 we froze!

We were lucky, I had to work for February 2010 so we ended up going to California in April.

We've been to many of the resorts and most of them are great but our favorites are Marriott Cypress harbor and Hilton's Parc Soleil. Beautiful resorts with many features.
