Presidents week, 2005? Help

We booked our trip for Feb 9- 19, 2005 and lately I've been reading about how busy Presidents week is. Keeping in mind, I'm from Canada, lol, I thought it was Presidents Day so just a long weekend? Is this not correct? Are the kids out of school for the week?

So, I guess I'm asking exactly what day/week is Presidents week for 2005 and when would the parks start getting busier?

miss the biggest crowds of Pres. Week. I
think some of the schools in the USA also
take that week off. We were there last year
at this time and also again around July 4th.
I thought Pres. week was more crowded.

Many schools are off that full week. It is becoming more and more popular. Looking at your dates though you'll only be dealing with crowds for the last few days.

The main thing to remember is to go in with a plan. We were there this year during President's week and thought it was very manageable. I don't feel we were "commandos", but we had a definite plan to what we were going to do each day rather than just going somewhere and wandering aimlessly for hours and riding 3 rides. Use fastpass and plan well and that time of year should be a piece of cake for you.

thank you all, you have no idea how relieved I am to hear that it starts after we leave, lol. We are used to mid Jan, nice and quiet but had to go in Feb this time.

You should be in good shape.

My son has the week of February 14th off and we are taking a Disney Cruise on the 13th. Last year he had Presidents' Week off, but this year he has the week BEFORE Presidents' Week. I am very happy because everything is a little bit cheaper and shouldn't be quite as crowded.

I live in Westchester County- a NYC suburb.
We usually do have our Winter Break around Presidents Day- the week of.
This year, none of the schools (at least in my county, maybe others in the state as well?) have off for the week. We only have off for Presidents Day, and the Friday before, that's all.
We have our vacation during April instead- and a couple more days around Easter.
Have a great time! I hope, for you, that other schools have also done away with their mid-February Winter Break this school year.

lol, me too Danielle. We just have spring break here. I had no idea some schools in the States had a winter break as well. SO they get Christmas, Winter, spring and summer breaks? Not too shabby,

My son gets two weeks at Christmas, a week in February and a week for Easter. School starts the Tuesday before Labor Day and ends June 16th. We always try to getaway during the February break!!!

For what it's worth, the Unofficial Guide's crowd calendar suggests that Friday the 18th will be moderate, following Sat->Mon will be busy, and the period before and after will be not horrible, but not empty.

We're going to go during P-Week, b/c that's when Ann Arbor's schools are off--but, A2 is the only school district in our area with the whole week---most schools have Friday before, Monday after, or both. Normally, A2's mid-winter break is the week after President's, but this year the calendar worked against us. UM has the week *after* presidents off, and is traditionally one of the first universities to take a "spring" break.

I'm thinking that we may skip out on either Sunday or Monday in the parks and do something else in the area, especially because we are doing the Pool Home thing rather than the On Site thing.

So...since we will be arriving February 15th (Wednesday evening)..and leaving on Monday, February 21st, President's Day....you would say...it may not be as crowded as the week "beginning" President's Day?
