Monday, February 20th. Sunny and gorgeous! DDage3 is dressed as Cinderella today. Our plan was to hit California Adventure today, but it doesn't open until 10am so...

We used our early entry and go to Disneyland at 7am. Rode the teacups, Alice/caterpillars, Dumbo, and Casey Jr. We tried to go the wishing well again to throw in the penny that dd found, but Snow White was doing an appearance there. DD is still too nervous about a face-to-face, so we decide to try again later.

I ride Mr. Toad's Wild Ride while dh and dd ride the carousel again. I'd swear Mr. Toad's has been renovated since I last rode it. Very cool.

At the entrance to Frontierland we run across Cinderella and then Belle doing appearances. Since we have reservations at the princess lunch (Ariel's Grotto) today, we have dd watch the princesses from afar and come up with a strategy for interacting with them. At one point she is shaking head to toe just watching Cinderella, poor baby!

We ride the Jungle Cruise and it is very fun. The piranhas are new since I rode it last. Before heading to DCA, we check the wishing well once again. Now Sleeping Beauty is appearing there! We decide to try again tomorrow. We just want to make a wish at the well!

We make it to the opening of California Adventure at 10am. My Disneyland travel book says to get tickets to the Aladdin show first thing. Apparently they don't do tickets anymore. We head over to Bug's Land for the kiddie rides.

After some inital confusion about whether Flik is a hummingbird or a bug, we hit the rides. We ride Flik's Flyers, Ladybugs, Rolie Polie Bumper Cars, and Heimlich's Chew Chew Train. I was worried that the ladybugs were spinning too wildly, but dd had a blast on them! In fact, at the end of the whole trip she kept saying that the ladybugs were her favorite thing, even over any Disneyland rides.

We have a reservation for the princess character lunch princess: at 11:40am, so we head over to Paradise Pier. We ride Triton's Carousel and then go to Ariel's Grotto. Appearing at the lunch: Ariel, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Snow White. They are all wonderful. DD rallies and manages to cuddle up to each of them for pictures, although she doesn't do much talking! When we've done breakfast before at Goofy's Kitchen, she was a lot more skittish with the characters. The food at Ariel's Grotto was passable. We liked the complimentary cotton candy!

After lunch we head back to the hotel for naptime. We returned for the 6pm Aladdin show. We chose orchestra seats and had to wait almost an hour in line. That part wasn't so fun. We later wished that we had left our stroller down the street (maybe near the marquee) rather than in the designated stroller area. It's just a crush of people to get through to get back to the stroller. Anyway, the Aladdin show was so fabulous! I don't think we can ever go back to the Aladdin show at Disneyland! There was one scary part for dd with the giant snake, but she held up even through that.

There were fireworks again at 9:30pm, due to the holiday. I guess normally they don't have them on Mondays. We watched again from our hotel room.

too funny that bumping into pricesses at the well is a problem! Bless your DD :)
