Presidents Day week-

Hi there,

Being from Canada I never considered President's day when booking our trip Ferbruary 23-26th- (Wed-Friday)
I thought I was doing well by booking a mid week trip, but I have found a few reports that say it could be a busy week due to the holiday on the monday-

Do you guys think it will be busy? Should I plan for crowds/use ridemax etc?

Disney has extended the hours by an hour so not a huge increase?

I'm thinking now that it might be- families might take the whole week off and go?

I live near San Francisco and our school district gets that whole week off. I don't think it will be crazy busy, but you should prepare yourself for larger than normal crowds.

Yeah, I would expect it be busier than what you might expect for off-season but not terrible. Our school district is giving the whole week off too. It's the first time they've done that. While Disney is our favored destination, I know many here in Northern California are eyeing that week as a ski week.

We went for President's Day weekend a couple years ago. It was also Valentine's Day that weekend. We tend to go at peak times, so we felt like the crowds were definitely better than Spring Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, even summer, more like a slightly busier than usual weekend I suspect.

Arrg...I was afraid of that- was really trying to avoid crowds and lines-

oh well, will just have to plan/use time wisely...

Lol... I started a nearly exact same thread as this one last week. I'm from BC too and asked the same question. Although, it looks to me as though you'll miss the Presidents Day rush, as the holiday weekend is technically the weekend before you get there... which is when we are there. Like you, I didn't think to check US holidays when I booked the trip. It just happened to be the weekend that our local schools have the Friday and Monday off as Pro-D days.

Most replied saying that it will be very busy for February but nothing compared to Spring Break, Summer, Thanksgiving or Christmas. Of course, I had thought we would be going in the dead of winter and it would be extremely quiet so I was a little disappointed but now that I think about it, I've only ever been during summer and spring break in the past and I don't remember not having fun so in the end, it will be great!

I noticed our weekend is blocked to all AP's so hopefully that will help some.

Are you flying out of Bellingham Carla? I'm driving from Kamloops and wondering which border crossing I should go to? It will be at like 4 am (7am flight) so I guess it doesn't really matter that much?

We're flying out of Seattle actually. Check the border times online. Some borders, like Aldergrove, don't open until 8am. Others, like Sumas (out of Abbotsford) is open 24 hours. That one is likely your best bet. Our flight is at noon so we'll likely leave before Aldergrove opens and will need to go Sumas way. Here's the link http://www.borderlineups.com/.

Bellingham is about 30 minutes from Sumas.

We're so excited too! Our girls have been begging for months and months to go and we surprised them on Christmas Day with the news! They have never been either.

I will be there the same week as you, and I already subscribed to Ridemax. But I am huge planner when it comes to Disney vacations... I'm a WDW vet, so I can't imagine not having a touring plan!
